    Bucks: Contenders In The East?

Top 4 team? No. Maggette and Gooden were decent signings but they're not gonna put Milwaukee over the top. Maggette is a selfish player who's developed into a pretty poor defender. Theres a reason why Gooden has been on 8 different teams in 8 years. I see the Bucks as a 40-45 win team.

I dont think they will be top 4. They are going to be better, but not top 4.

They traded Maggette for Charlie Bell and Danny G, both of whom wern't in the rotation for the Bucks at the end of the year as well.

They added talent without losing anyone. Do I think Maggette/Gooden/CDR are star players? Obviously not, but they are pretty good role players. Skiles won't let them disrupt the chemistry, or they'll be sitting on the bench.
Maggette is a destructive player. Remember when he went to the Warriors and everybody thought it was a good signing? Look how good that turned out for them. Drew Gooden is a decent role player but he's soft like Maggette. I know the Bucks won 46 games last year, they were red hot down the stretch. I just don't see them being very improved. Jennings might be a little bit more consistent but I don't like Maggette or Gooden. Boston is better, Orlando is better, if JJ resigns the Hawks are better, if LBJ resigns the Cavs are better, then you got teams like Chicago, Miami and NY all looking at huge FA acquisitions.

Not without John Salmons and his beard.

Maggette is not a worse defender than Carlos Delfino or Jerry Stackhouse whose playing time he will be taking. He is an incredibly efficient wing scorer which we definitely needed. Gooden wouldn't have been traded so many times if teams didn't like him, he can rebound and hit the midrange J. Not saying he's worth the money or anything but he will contribute.

As far is top 4 is concerned it entirely dependent on how the east ends up being aligned, but we have done nothing but improve and add depth to a 46 win team, I can't see us doing worse than that. We have the same key components as last year other than Ridnour.

I don't know about top 4, but they are definitely in the mix as long as Bogut can stay healthy.

Can Salmons continue his solid play and will Jennings hit a sophomore slump?

              What constitutes a "contender"?

Do I think their a top 5 team in the East? Probably. But most of times I'd only consider the top 2-3 to be true contenders.

They massively overpaid for Gooden. The reason why he can't stick on a team is because he's as dumb as a rock. He misses a ton of defensive assignments and he takes bad shots as well.

                  sure right now they're a top4 team,

but that's because the top 5 players in the east are in freeagency without a team.

I see them maybe as a top6, top5 is pushing it.

Michael Redd will have no impact as a player in how good the Bucks are lol

gotta wait until free agency is over to really tell...

But I do believe the Bucks have leap frog'd the Hawks
