Vinny Del Negro to coach the Clippers

The Los Angeles Clippers have reached an agreement in principle with Vinny Del Negro to become the team's head coach.

The team said Tuesday night in an e-mail that more details would be announced Wednesday.

Del Negro was fired by the Chicago Bulls in May after going 82-82 in two seasons and making two postseason appearances.

Del Negro got put in a shitty position bound for failure. He was never the long term solution and took over a team which had one of the shittiest contract situations around and turned them into a decent playoff team taking the east champions to 7 games.


I personally didn't think he was as terrible as everyone says. You don't make the playoffs 2 years in a row by being a terrible coach

The Clippers had the same 2 coaching finalists as the Bulls did when they hired Vinny over Casey. Weird

He wasn't a horrible coach overall, he was just terrible in the 4th qtr, and HORRIBLE and managing timeouts. I don't think he realizes they are limited.
