At least 3.
How many titles do the Heat now need to win?

at least 2 or else a shit storm of negativity towards lebron will worsen 3 and his "betrayal" or whatever cleveland fans are saying is thrown out the books
however if bron wants to reach one of the top 5 spots he needs at least 5 championships and 1 on his own which is pretty much impossible unless a freak injury to wade happensRIP

I honestly don't see them winning any championships. Sure, they have the big three but what about the rest of the team? Plus, Chicago, Orlando and Boston are going to be in the thick of it as well in the East.Comment

They have two 30 PPG scorers and a PF in Bosh who can give you 20+10 every night. Miami doesn't need an elite bench. They have glue guys like Chalmers (very raw, not a good ball handler but great on ball defender), Mike Miller (48 percent three point shooter, perfect glue guy), Udonis Haslem (good role playing big man, he'll play some center for them, might even start) then you have good veterans who might be interested in signing for the minimum to be a part of this super team. They also have a couple of decent rookie prospects, theres a good chance Pittman never turns into anything but Varnardo is a blocking fiend and athletic freak, he could turn into a very good defensive role player. Da'Sean Butler was a fantastic college player, he's coming off a bad knee injury and his game didn't look like a lock to translate to the NBA anyway but he's got some potential. Do the Heat have the ideal championship bench? Probably not but its definitely good enough.

And the Heat are looking to sign Derrick Fisher or Jason Williams at PG, either would prob be a step up from Chalmers so he can learn behind a vet. Fisher coming to Miami would be huge.
And nature boy... everybody had the exact same doubts about the Celtics when they got the big 3, you never know who's going to step up.Comment

LeBron will never be the GOAT, however...this TEAM could be the GOAT...which, just may very well what LeBron wants, if I am to infer on some of his comments from after his decision both on TV and at the Heat Welcoming Partay.
With that said...in the next SIX years...FIVE.
You have two of the top three best players in the game, plus a top 10 in the league player and top 3 big man, AND, you are able to assemble a worthy roster (as seen with Mike Miller, Raja Bell, Udonis Haslem already)...
This Heat team should be going for titles yearly, and should win them all after next season, where they and the Lakers will probably battle it out in the Finals.
You don't assemble the Olympic team for simply two, or three titles...I mean, the Lakers are about to three-peat without all the hooplah...they need to exceed that...four and five are the numbers here...anything else...underwhelming, really.Comment

Those three egos have to come together and mesh as a team. Sure, everyone is buddy-buddy right now but when the first bump in the road hits, I wonder who will be the first one to turn on the others.Comment

I say at least 3 in the next 6 years since that's what all of them has signed for. This is assuming no other superstars band together and try to do the same. With that said, they better get some people around them because those 3 alone can't do it.Comment

True but remember when the Lakers added Karl Malone and Gary Payton to the roster. Everyone thought they were a lock to win it all. The did make the Finals but lost to Detroit. Adding superstars to a team doesn't always equal titles.

They had superstar careers up to that point. They were old and nowhere near as good as they used to be but with the addition of those two, people thought the Lakers were a lock to win another NBA Championship.Comment

They need 4 of 6 to be a success. I honestly don't see them getting 1 within their first 3 years.Comment

Chalmers at this moment > Fisher and JWill, no doubt. I mean.. Fisher would bring clutch shots and leadership, so he'd be a nice fit.. but no way JWill is a better player then Mario Chalmers right now. Chalmers had some inconsistencies last year but hes still mad young, and has shown he has what it takes to be a very solid starting PG in the league.Comment
