Mike Miller, Haslem (To) Sign with Heat

The Miami Heat's unofficial addition of Washington Wizards free-agent forward Mike Miller is official to at least one of the parties involved.

The "Mike Miller Official Site", www.mikemiller33.com, now features Heat colors and a Heat logo. In addition, his Twitter account now lists his location as Miami and his "bio" section lists "guard, Miami Heat".

MIAMI — Udonis Haslem is staying with the Miami Heat.
Haslem signed a five-year deal Monday worth around $20 million, more than $10 million less than he could have gotten had he accepted offers from the Dallas Mavericks and Denver Nuggets.

"I would be changing my DNA if I left just for money," Haslem said.

Haslem has been teammates with Dwyane Wade for each of their previous seven NBA seasons, and Wade wanted that relationship to continue. When Wade, LeBron James and Chris Bosh agreed to new deals last week, each took slightly less money to allow Miami room to get other players.

And in turn, Haslem took less money to stay with the Heat as well.

"It's good to be back," Haslem said.

Haslem has averaged 10.0 points and 8.1 rebounds in his seven Miami seasons.

A guy like Haslem taking 10 million less says alot. It's one thing for the big 3, but it's entirely different when a guy like Haslem does it.

Fisher is going back to LA. It was on ESPN. Big Z has only said he's interested.

Lol. Mike Miller shot 48 percent from 3 last year, yeah he's pretty much only a shooter but he's one of the best in the league. Haslem is a fine role playing big man, he's not afraid to bang down low for you.

A big man that can't play center because of his 6'8" size.

I wasn't aware that there was a height requirement to play Center. Haslem can play Center or come off the bench and play PF (preferable option probably).

i think the Heat will be fine signing the guys they are signing. it would have been nice to get Fisher but i had a feeling that wasnt happening.

Haslem is a solid role player, gives em a big body they can throw at teams like the Lakers who can roll out 3 bigs in Odom, Gasol, and Bynum in the same lineup. He's a role player though, adding Big Z to play the 5 would be a nice move...as long as they arent counting on Bosh playing C. Guys like Haywood, Ben Wallace, Kwame Brown, and Earl Barron are still out there, thats a bunch of big bodies that can pull down rebounds and play D if Big Z doesnt work out...hell some of those guys would be preferable to Z imo.

I can't wait to see what Gilbert and the Cavs fans do about Big Z leaving. Big Z played his entire career with the Cavs, so I'd suspect he's seen as being an Ohio guy as well.

Dude, you do not want to be in Cleveland if BIG Z leaves. It'll be like when Terrell Brandon left, not pretty.

Except for when they traded him last year
