Just for shits and giggles I goggled around and I guess he balooned up to over 300, got cut in camp by the Hawks, then lost like 70+ pounds before he even got a chance at the NBA again.Comment

No, the pic I posted is of Dimitri Hill who played for Florida in the early 90's. At the time he had a killer hook shot that people called, "Da Meat Hook," because he'd back you down, drop his weight (300+) into the defender and shoot a hook shot.Last edited by ralaw; 07-13-2010, 11:19 AM.Comment

Ok. You blew mind mind for a second. I figured there was no way Haslem played against Allen. I got Dmitri Hill crossed up with looking like Dmitri Young....Also known as "Da Meat Hook"Comment

Haslem is a solid role player, gives em a big body they can throw at teams like the Lakers who can roll out 3 bigs in Odom, Gasol, and Bynum in the same lineup. He's a role player though, adding Big Z to play the 5 would be a nice move...as long as they arent counting on Bosh playing C. Guys like Haywood, Ben Wallace, Kwame Brown, and Earl Barron are still out there, thats a bunch of big bodies that can pull down rebounds and play D if Big Z doesnt work out...hell some of those guys would be preferable to Z imo.Comment

After he retires, he'll move on to an executive role with the Heat...
That 10 million he gives up is made up with wise financial moves early in his career, the comfort of living exactly where he wants to live, and a great relationship with the community/Heat.
This is the second time Udonis turned down moolah to stay with the Heat. It hasn't gone unnoticed.Comment

He went to Europe, grew up, and became a man...guy is the consummate pro...he is a Pat Riley guy through and through.
You look at a guy like Udonis, and its a reason teams take chances on the young troubled kids...because there is a chance they become men with some life experience.
He is a lunch pail guy now...comes in, works hard, shuts up, doesn't cause trouble, does lots of charity work, etc.Comment

I'm not sure Big Z will be a "fit" for the Heat...they will be running a lot...I mean, look at the wings.
I think Joel Anthony is the perfect "fit" for the big minutes at center. Good defender, shotblocker, rebounder type, plus, he is very athletic and can run the court. I think a backup like Z would be fine, or a Magloire simply for fouls/d-up guys...Dexter Pittman will see 5-10 a night.
If they can get 20-25M out of Anthony, I think a guy like Z or Magloire can give you 10-15 and while they may not fit with the running style, they can provide some valuable minutes.Comment

Yall gonna trip when Earl Barron is the starting Center of an NBA finals team..
Foreal tho I love that my boy Joel Anthony is going to likely slide into the roll, assuming the Heat retain him, and they should. But I wont be surprised to see Haslem playing a lot of 5 wit Chris Bosh on the court with him this year.Last edited by Kuzzy Powers; 07-13-2010, 12:18 PM.Comment
