Mike Miller, Joel Anthony and Big Z are now official to the Heat. They are now looking at Matt Barnes, Jamaal Magloire, Chris Quinn, and Keyon Dooling.

We are finalizing contracts with Magloire and Howard.

And, we just re-signed James Jones this afternoon!

I think Dexter Pittman can become a Big Baby Davis. If not, better than him

Let's not forget Butler, if he recovers well, this guy is going to be the steal of the draft!

          Agreed!

Pittman seems a little more raw than Davis to me, but playing with the guys he has on the team will make his progression that much quicker. Imagine where Rondo would be if he didn't have the big three to help him grow as a player. Pittman will learn a lot and be a guy that can guard guys like D12 1v1 in the near future. Only God knows if/when his offensive game ever shows up in the NBA.

Butler's going to be great with Spo, Wade, and LeBron assisting him even futher. Yeah, Pittman still needs to lose weight and work on his hands. I think Chalmers will flourish this season too. He's going to be open quite a few times with the double teams of two of the big three.

Apart from Davis having an offensive game and Pittman having well... nothing really.

He's still raw and has to develop. I just threw it out there lol.

I'm just saying, I watched alot of Texas games and will be pretty shocked if Pittman ever amounts to anything at the next level. Maybe he can find something i've never seen, maybe... I just really doubt it.

You can quote this and laugh at me in five years if you're right. [lol at VSN still being alive in five years]

Let's see how he develops in Miami.

I don't think he'll see much play time(if even) with Joel, Z, Magloire, and Howard lol.

This. What makes Davis a solid player is that for a guy his size he has great feet has a bit of a face up game and is decently agile.

Pittman is just kind of a big oaf on the NBA level. He'll be a nice guy to have on the bench to bang around and absorb fouls when need be but I don't think he has the base skill set to develop into a guy like Davis.
Maybe he maxes out somewhere between Aaron Gray and Big Baby Davis but Pittman has a long way to go..especially when talking about Pittman as being a Big Baby type for a Heat team looking to go on a title run this season.

I just threw out the camparison of Davis. He'll rarely see playing time this season. And knowing Riley, when rookies make a mistake, they're basically done and benched. I like Pittman's size, it's something that Miami needed but won't really use for now with all of the big man additions.

Archer hit the nail on the head. Pittman is fat, lazy and slow, and ill be shocked if he even amounts to an admirable NBA back-up. Me and Archer had fun betting against him and Texas all thru the 2nd half of the NCAA season.

Pittman is terrible. I'd be surprised if he's on an active roster in 5 years. Butler might be able to be a decent role player when he recovers fully.
