Jamal Crawford expected to demand trade this week

Per John Hollinger, Crawford will ask for a 3 or 4-year extension on his current $10 M deal, which expires at year's end.

I expect the Hawks to grant him his wish for a trade. No sense in extending him with the way the rest of the payroll and roster is comprised, especially not with the impending Al Horford negotiation staring us in the face at the same time.

I think you have to have players in order to trade for more players. Sorry if we're not interested in all tradeable assets Miami doesn't have.

It's a good thing the Hawks gave Joe Johnson more money than every other FA got this offseason.. otherwise this Crawford move would be a deathblow

                  No not Crawfy.

But in all honesty the Hawks have no where to go especially with the over paying of JJ. For the next 5 years they will most likely be a 45 win team that gets knocked out in the 2nd round.

IMO they should have traded Marvin before the '09 season began ('08 Marvin had a good season so his value was at its highest) and tried to get a young true center like Marc Gasol, Andrew Bynum, Martin Gortat. Then moved Horford to PF and hope Josh develops a shot at the SF while letting JJ go at in Free Agency this year. Using some of the JJ money to bring back Josh Childress.

one would be crazy to try and tell josh to get a jumpshot hed probably fall too much in love with it and try to impress everyone with his abilities the hawks should tell him to stay focused on dunking and blocking with the addition of some post moves
                    RIP

Sounds good on paper but Smith will never get better at shooting, and is at his best at the 4. So is Horford. It sucks, but what can you do? Josh Smith had his best season last year, all because he stopped shooting so much. He's not a small forward and never will be,

We could definitely use a true center though. I'm hoping we can land a decent young big from Crawford/Bibby's but not getting my hopes up.
