also BYU dealt a big blow they suspended Davies for remainder of the season, that's HUGE.Originally posted by Nick MangoldWes Welker is a great player. He's really taken advantage of watching film. If we don't keep a Spy on him, he could really open the Gate.Comment

I think besides the obvious favorite for the next two years, St. Francis (PA) and Wagner can do a lot of damage.

I'm pretty sure some NBA scouts got in JaJuan Johnsons ear last summer and told him he'll never be a big man in the league so he needs to start working on his perimeter game. Now he chucks 3s far too often.
His first 3 years at Purdue he shot 9 3s total. This season he's taken 43. He's not even that good at them either. He needs to stay in the post, Purdue got enough shooters already and he's the only real inside threat.Comment

CCSU 64 St. Francis 62
Good to see us win tonight after losing 3 in a row and 4 out of our last 5. Horton and company didn't even have that great of a game offensively but held St. Francis to 28% shooting from the field.
Onto Long Island. Hopefully this game gives our big 3 some confidence and they fire on all cylinders.Comment

Robert Morris 78, Wagner 74
Almost disaster after being up by 20 midway through the second half, but luckily we pulled out the victory. Velton Jones went OFF for 29 points (8-12 FG, 4-5 3PT, 9-10 FT), while Coron Williams added 16 (4-5 FG, 2-3 3PT, 6-7 FT) and Lijah Thompson had a big second half with 13 (6-11 FG, 1-2 FT).
Wagner had five in double digits, led by junior guard Tyler Murray with 19. Senior Chris Martin had 14 after sitting out last game with a suspension, while freshman Latif Rivers had 14 as well.
The refs weren't that great (even the Wagner SID who I was chatting with all game agreed with me) and made a lot of calls to get Wagner back in it. But a win's a win, and I'm satisfied.
Quinnipiac/RMU, round 2 on Sunday. Let's hope that the result is just like last year's rematch.
BTW, for all you Duke fans, I met Bobby Hurley tonight (he's an assistant to his brother Dan, who's the head coach) and he's a hell of a guy. Thought that would be interesting to share with you guys.
