    From NBA.com
NEW YORK, March 1, 2011 – New York Knickerbockers President of Basketball Operations Donnie Walsh announced today that forward Derrick Brown has been claimed off waivers.

Brown, 6-8, 227-pounds, holds career averages of 3.4 points on .500 shooting, 1.7 rebounds and 10.4 minutes in 98 games (one start) over two seasons with Charlotte. The Dayton, OH native is averaging 3.7 points on .549 shooting and 2.0 rebounds over 11.9 minutes in 41 games (one start) during the 2010-11 season. He was originally selected by Charlotte in the second round (40th overall) of 2009 NBA Draft after a three-year playing career at Xavier University. He was waived by the Bobcats on Feb. 24.
Charlotte waived him b/c they made a trade and needed a roster spot, they wanted to keep him.

Supposedly he's know as a defensive player who needs playing time to get his head above water offensively but I doubt he sees any playing time.

Also, Gallo broke his left big toe and will miss a week to 10 days.

Freaking Howard knees Billups in the thigh on a pick late in the game and he couldn't return. Doesn't sound like he'll play Wednesday at home.

Either Douglas or Carter would get the start in that situation.

Im almost hoping for the nosedive to continue at this point so that we miss the playoffs. D'Antoni needs to be shitcanned at this point.

Last week it was Tyler Hansbrough. Yesterday, the Knicks made Delfino look like Superman. WTF? 7-8 since the trade.

The Knicks were better off without Anthony, though no one can blame them for making the trade.

In the long run, they'll be better for having him.

But if you're gonna have players who are less than enthusiastic about playing defense, you're going to have to have a coach who emphasizes the team give it some effort on that side of the ball.

D'Antoni has proven time and again he doesn't give a rat's ass about it.

^^^....and it doesn't help that our big stars are defensively-challenged too. Did you hear Clyde getting on them? He said great players play defense.

No they weren't. They were 28-26 when they made the trade. A .500 team that played little defense remained .500 and continued to play little defense.

                            Brutal.

The Celtics are the only team I hate more than the Knicks, so fuck the Knicks even more than normal.

Can't wait to see Dwight Howard abuse the Knicks small lineup tomorrow night.
