    Newsday: Knicks Considering Aaron Brooks

Newsday reports the Rockets may be shopping PG Aaron Brooks after suspending him for walking off the court during a timeout recently. Brooks will be a RFA in the off-season and Brooks isn't getting much playing time these days anyway.

Newsday says the Knicks probably wouldn't have to give up any asset that could hinder them acquiring Carmelo. They suggest the Knicks may be able to give up Kelenna Azubuke's expiring contract (that is mostly covered by insurance anyway) to get him.

The Knicks have been looking to get a back-up PG to lead the offense when Felton is taking a breather. They like Toney Douglas but he's not a true PG, more of a 2-guard who plays energetic defense.

He hits threes and runs the floor well. Perfect fit.

Can't we get some defensive help? C'mon Donnie Walsh, damn.

defense is the last thing on d'antoni's priorities list..
Walsh is just playing to this knick team's strength's of pushing the ball and scoring
and the knicks are winnig this way...

now without a defensive presence they probably wont win a title, but prioritzing defense is a bigger issue with the coaching staff than the player personel right now

I will be so happy when D'Amphony is no longer coaching this team.

I long for the day when hard-nosed defense returns to MSG.

Exactly what I was gonna say. He actually would be a solid backup PG for the Knicks, he can shoot and he can penetrate.

Sure, he can't play D but the Knicks' bigger issue on that end of the floor is post defense, IMO. A backup 1 isn't going to solve that problem anyway.

Brooks would be a great pick-up. This dude is a starter on many teams in this league, including his own. Hes just been really frustrated with injuries, and Lowry has been playing tremendous, so its been a tough year for him. Dude is a legit baller.
