DeRozan's dunk was better than Ibaka's.
Griffin's was entertainment, give him that.
And you knew, barring something disastrous, Griffin was winning this thing. It's the NBA ... which is only slightly less fixed than the WWE.

It was very anti-climactic. The best dunks were in the first two rounds. The results were screwy too, the two best dunkers didn't make it to the finals and the fourth best dunker won.
Oh well, all participants put on a show and it's good to see the dunk contest matter again. Very entertaining proceedings, if not logical. Serge and DeRozan were robbed.Comment

What's going on with pro athletes lately?
Mark Sanchez and Curry liking underage girls is one thing ... but liking incredibly below-average underage girls?
Do they have to underachieve on the field/court and life too?
Sanchez's underage girlfriend is the perfect illustration of his NFL career so far.My Twitch video link: http://www.twitch.tv/dave374000

Outside of DeMar Derozan being robbed of getting in the Second Round, I thought that the contest was pretty good.
The best dunker of the competition won. I didn't think JaVale McGee deserved the second round bid though. I mean, I guess that it's difficult to dunk two or three basketballs in at once, but the dunks themselves weren't actually impressive. Is it difficult? Yes. Is it a good dunk? Not so much.
The props were (and always have been) really annoying. Serge Ibaka deserved a higher score on free throw line dunk, but that prop dunk was dumb. The dunk itself wasn't that impressive and it took even longer to do than it needed because he missed the first time. That kid's acting was very annoying.
Javale McGee's mom bringing down the ball... also very annoying. Kissing all the judges trying to figure out which one of them will be the first to please her in the past five years. Doesn't help that Javale had to keep trying the dunk.
Blake Griffin's last dunk was overdone as well. The choir, the overhype... just too grandiose. But, the upside is that he got it in on the first time, so I could live with that.
I though Blake Griffin's dunks were the best I've ever seen since Jason Richardson. I would have much rather seen DeMar and Griffin duke it out than see Javale. But hey, it was entertaining and pretty sick actually.

The best dunks of the night were McGee's first dunk in the finals (the backwards over the head dunk while running away from the basket), DeMar's last dunk (one handed reverse scoop off of a lob) and Ibaka's free throw line launch.Comment
