Put Villanova on that list too. They got smoked by the Irish last night.

Villanova has been bad every time I've seen them play this year. They are a total slop team...they don't really do anything on offense or defense. They can't shoot, they can't score inside. They don't press. They just try to run into people and get to the free-throw line.

Villanova is cursed because they got away with stealing a win in the NCAA tournament last year. The basketball gods decided to have their fans believers early in the season, then last year's RMU coach Mike Rice and Rutgers brought his team back from an insane deficit with like a minute to go to upset them. Since then, they've sucked.

They sold their basketball soul for one win over a #15 seed.

That game last year was awful to watch. Villanova shot 40 free throws! Scottie Reynolds shot 2 of 15 from the field, but shot 16 free throws! RMU was called for 31 fouls!!

            George Mason

I'm not sure all three will make it though....I see two of them making it...ODU and George Mason.

Also, Cleveland State with Norris Cole who will more than likely be the best player on the court against whoever they play could be dangerous. Come tournament time every year there is that player from a mid-major that plays himself into becoming a star and IMO that kid this year is going to be Norris Cole.
Problem with Cleveland St is that they collapsed in conference and have no OOC wins to speak of. They probably need to win the Horizion League tourney at this point and they lost out on a bye with Butler and Milwaukee thanks to a tiebreaker.

I like VCU, George Mason, Hofstra (Jenkins could drop 30 on any tourney team), Oakland, Belmont, College of Charleston as sleepers.

              ARCHER!

Cleveland State has RMU as a OOC win.

Such a heartbreaking game to be at. Even some of the Nova fans told us while walking back to the bus that we got screwed.

I could see Duke getting a #1 seed over Pitt based on rep, but I doubt that BYU would get a #1 seed over a Big East champ Pitt team.

It will be interesting to see if Coastal Carolina can get things together and win their tournament and get in the NCAA tournament.

I don't know if any of you guys have been following them the last few weeks, but they are facing some huge problems.

There was a story in the NY Times last week, and there have been some suspensions and NCAA investigations regarding violations, and they have also been hit with injuries. They have gone from a possible sleeper to desperate all in about a few weeks time. I think they only have 7 scholarship players, and dressed only 8 in their last two conference losses.

They play in the 1st Round of the Big South Tourney tonight for Gardner-Webb, I think Leftwhich posted earlier that he was going.

Thank you! Could not have said it better myself. They are one of, if not THE, most overrated teams in the country.

As for BYU.. If BYU wins out (very very likely) and has a decent showing in the MWC tourney - they're a lock to be a 1 seed IMO. They've only lost two games all year, one at New Mexico (which is always a very difficult place to play at) and the other to UCLA.. which right now isn't looking like a very bad loss by any stretch. They have the best RPI in the country as well.

You're looking at a probable 30 win team with the nations best scorer.. I think they deserve a one seed barring them losing a brutal game in the conference tourney (They will likely get TCU/Wyoming in their first game.)

fuck this Murray State noise, its all about Morehead State. Kenneth Faried is the truth and if they with their tourney, any team is on upset alert if he can get going.

If St. John's runs the table and has a good showing in the Big East tourney, I could see them getting a #5 seed.

Really? I can see them as a 4.

All that said, SJU scares me come March. They have that Michigan State feel where they will probably do the opposite of what I project them to do in the tourney.
