    Gary Williams retires

Maryland coach Gary Williams is retiring, the school announced on Thursday. Williams will have a news conference on Friday.

I'm completely blown. Luckily the local talent and ACC ties will make this a highly contested coaching position. I hope we are able to bring in a coach who will be able to secure someof the local talent that Gary Williams neglects to recruit.

Right now I really am looking for two candidates to get this job

Mike Brey- Local guy with ties to Dematha HS. Very familiar with the rich recruiting area in the DC area. Has ACC experience being a former assistant to Coach K at Duke and plenty of head coaching experience.

Keith Booth- Former player and current Terps assistant. Young energetic recruiter who could bring a new sense of life to this program without damaging it's rich traditions and history

    I'm leaning heavily towards Booth

Quite shocking, especially with all the young talent on that team that should start to really pay off this upcoming season. Hopefully the new coach can keep them all at Maryland.

you think Booth is ready to take over a big time program like that with zero head coaching experience? Im not saying he's a bad fit but most guys go get a job at a Se Mizzou or Holy Cross before they take on a power conference head job.
