I was reading about game 7 today on a certain website that is the "Leader" in sports, well it is bad enough that Seattle fans have to bear watching OKC blow up like everyone here knew they would before they were ripped away from us by many people foreign and domestic. Back to my point, while reading this article the writer describes how Durant hit a big shot then sprinted down court while giving a high-five to former THUNDER player Desmond Mason. The guy never played for OKC, he was a Sonic!!! he won a dunk contest with the Sonics!!!! so if you wanna say he was there please will give us some credit for having a basketball team thank you! and that's what grinds my gears, Peter Griffin voice
Other then the OKC blow up, give the guy a break. gotta be tough to have a team you loved and followed just pick up and move. He's supporting his city and his hometown sports.
Maybe his dad or someone took him to his first game there and its something he wanted to share his family. (IDK for all I know this guy is 13 years old and Im saying this)
The Sonics were the team that got me in to BBall. The guys who babysat me when I was 7 or 8 would let me shoot hoops with them on their drive way. The first poster I owned was a Schrempf/Payton/Kemp one on the Seattle skyline. I have a lot of family in Vancouver, so was always pushing to see a game down there. Closest I ever got was a Grizzlies game (not even close to the same Dad). The Ray Allen/Rashard Lewis playoff run was some of the most fun I had as an NBA fan.
I'm not going to lie, it wasn't until this season that I could say I was a full on NBA fan again. I don't really have a team right now, though I am pulling for the Thunder. Toronto is just too far away, so I am hopeful that Seattle/Vancouver gets another team in the PNW so I can make some more roadtrips
