    Lakers to Hire Mike Brown

$18 mil over 4 years, according to reports

Mike Brown will not be the next head coach of the Golden State Warriors.

Brown, the former coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers, is expected to be named the new coach of the Los Angeles Lakers, according to two league sources.

Brown was considered a frontrunner for the Warriors' job, but is expected to sign a four-year contract worth approximately $18 million with the Lakers -- succeeding Phil Jackson as coach.

I think they should have given the job to Brian Shaw.

Never was a fan of him (or impressed) in Cleveland. Him going to an imploding Lakers group seems to be a bad fit.

Mike Brown is terrible. He has no redeeming qualities. Putting someone like him in the media glare of Los Angeles is even worse.

He's a good defensive coach, but it will be interesting to see if they keep they triangle around, because he's not that great of an offensive coach. At this point any coach they bring in is more of a figure head anyways.

Every Laker fan I have spoken with about our new coach has started their reply with:

                      Sigh.

But I think no matter the case, when a certain head coach is leading the team to glory and championships for so long, and then suddenly dies in his last battle...I don't think there is anyone they could of brought in that would of settled our confused hearts.

And us Laker fans are definitely a confused bunch.

                      A. We are not use to having to rely on Dodger baseball to get us through the early summer.
                      B. We truly believed we were on to the next one.
                      C. The Lakers implosion reminded all Laker Fans of one thing: 2004 NBA Finals. (Not to take credit away from the Mavericks by saying locker room turmoil or anything along those lines was why we lost)

And so enters Mr. Brown. Not Larry Brown. Mike Brown. Welcome to LA coach.

What makes that worse was he was allowing John Keuster to do that, quite possibly one of the worst head coaches I have ever watched. Keuster was the offensive coach to a Cleveland team that basically just gave the ball to LBJ and watched. Absolutely no strategy whatsoever.

To be honest I see that happen in Miami as well.
