There actually was some good role players taken there.

Is it also really fair to call the 24th pick in the draft a bust? I think we're missing the point of a bust.

Quickly checked out the top 10 picks of each of the past 11 years to see how many turned out to be busts..the guys named below are obviously the ones I did not consider to be busts.

3/10 (KMart, Miller, Crawford…Przybilla and Dooling are debatable) - 70% Bust

2001 Draft
5/10 (Chandler, Gasol, JRich, Battier, JJohnson) - 50% Bust

2002 Draft
6/10 (Yao, Dunleavy, Gooden, Nene, Amare, Butler) - 40% Bust

2003 Draft
7/10 (LBJ, Melo, Bosh, Wade, Kaman, Hinrich, Ford) - 30% Bust

2004 Draft
7/10 (Howard, Okafor, Gordon, Harris, Childress, Deng, Iguodala) - 30% Bust

So an average of about 35% of top ten picks turn out to be busts.

Marvin Williams is a bust...#2 pick, and he still hasn't found his niche yet...can't even get consistent starting minutes.

Charlie V...meh, he's been a solid starter, guess you can have that.

Who ever said wondering around aimlessly without the ball and clumsily dribbling directly into a defender with the ball isn't a niche?

Also, there are rumors that Minnesota will give us the #2 for Smoove. If they really want another mercurial forward on their team, I'd say yes to that deal in .000001 seconds.

Kanter at the 5 allows Horford to play his natural position and makes our roster pieces actually fit ... Even if Kanter is a stiff it makes Horford 10% better so anything the Big Turk would give us would be a bonus.

Looks like this is the top ten with questions being will Minny keep the pick and who Charlotte takes at 9.
