Andre Drummond, #2 ESPN U100, Commits to Uconn

Two weeks after he announced he would be attending a Massachusetts prep school next year rather than playing college basketball, the class of 2011's top big man apparently has experienced a sudden change of heart.

Connecticut native Andre Drummond revealed via Twitter on Friday night that he intends to enroll at UConn immediately and play for the home state Huskies during the 2011-12 season.

Probably a one and done, but repeat???

Lamb, Oriakhi and Napier + Drummond.

    I'll still take a UNC/UK showdown.

UCONN is STACKED. I'll go on record as saying they are my favorite to win it all again.

Their length is ridiculous...Napier will be the new PG and he's already a defensive type pass first PG...they'll have Lamb, Roscoe Smith at the 3, Oriahki at the 4 and Drummond at the 5.

Not to mention they brought in DeAndre Daniels, another 6'8" wing who's long and athletic. Beastly.

UConn has no scholarships left and Drummomd says he'll walk on and pay his own way. The #2 player in the class of 2012 is WALKING ON somewhere? Between the last minute get of Deandre Daniels (out of no where) and now this, something's a little fishy here.

Drummond is an elite talent...though there are questions about his work ethic...

nvm, he is on a scholly, Player has to give up scholly for Drummond

ESPN.com has learned through a source that Connecticut Huskies coach Jim Calhoun, interim athletic director Paul Pendergast, UConn president Susan Herbst and at least one member of the compliance department met Friday to ensure that it was possible to add another scholarship player -- a big one -- even though the program is officially out of scholarships.

Once it was determined that one player on the current roster -- a source told ESPN.com it is redshirt freshman Michael Bradley -- could possibly qualify for financial aid days before the fall semester begins this week, a call was made to Andre Drummond's camp that a possible scholarship was available.

Andre Drummond's addition instantly makes Connecticut a national-title contender.
And then came the tweet from Friday from Drummond: “It’s official I’m heading to the university of connecticut to be a husky this year! Do I hear repeat.”

this makes 3 really stacked teams in the NCAA and then you always gotta worry about the Dukes and KUs of the world no matter who they bring in. This should be a fun year for college hoops.

Pitt will still win the Big East, UCONN will go farther in March.

                          Story of my life.
