Sorry Celts fans, but if you pick up this guy, you can kiss your chances of repeating goodbye... he's been a cancer everywhere he's been, and if he comes in I think it will completely screw up the chemistry they have in Boston.
Finally back after a 3 year hiatus!

I think it's impossible for this guy to mess up team chemistry... why? because the chemistry is built around vets, not some 20-24 yr old kids that would let him fuck it up...

          Why even mess with that?

Marbury kills every team he touches.

Marbury for Finals MVP coming off the bench. Marbury has always been a long term cancer, not a couple months. He knows his role and he wont expect the ball every second of the game. There is really nothing for him to be a cancer about. Great move by the Celtics.

              100% false.

A backup guard isn't going to mess with the chemistry of a championship team. Especially, when there would be no qualms whatsoever with letting him walk.

It's all on Marbury. If he wants to buy in and play, fine. If not, then he's gone. It's no risk, high reward with bringing him in.

You make it sound like the Celtics were going to repeat before this.

I didn't say they would for sure, I thought they had a chance to repeat... but if Marbury's on board, forget it.

Marbury's a lot like Ricky Davis... selfish, and everywhere he goes the team turns to shit... except Marbury's more talented than Davis ever will be, and with Marbury things don't turn to shit in the same extent.

From all indications, the Celtics are the only team interested in taking on Stephon Marbury. Orlando is among several teams that could use a player of his considerable skills, but wants no part of what Marbury brings to the locker room. Given that the Magic doesn't have the strong veteran leadership among its top players that Boston enjoys, Orlando is smart. Before the Magic traded for Rafer Alston at last week's deadline, to address the season-ending shoulder injury to starting point guard Jameer Nelson, Orlando had "zero interest" in Marbury. When Marbury's potential move to Boston was raised, one team source said, smiling, "That's what we're hoping." The Cavaliers probably feel the same way. Give him a locker and Marbury can wreak havoc on any team. As Marbury showed during his time with the Knicks, you can't find a more polarizing figure in any of the other 29 locker rooms. But Marbury is at the end of his contract and has to be on his best behavior to get his next deal.

Q: How do you feel about coming off the bench?

SM: "I don't care what they ask me to do. I'll play 20 minutes or I'll play 15. It doesn't matter who is scoring or who is doing what. It's about one common goal: to win."

Q: How excited are you about coming to the Celtics?

SM: "This is the happiest I've been since being drafted, man. I'm so happy that it doesn't even feel real. It feels, it just feels like, it feels different to finally be able to get the opportunity to go play for a team that's established. Everyone is on the same page. There is one goal, and that's winning a ring, winning the trophy.

So this is pretty much official now that he's a Celtic (will be after 10 AM).

And there's the lip service answers that people were looking for, lol.

We'll see how it plays out.

Yeah he's saying that stuff now... but we'll see if he backs up those claims, or if he turns into the selfish plague he's been pretty much his whole career.
