Kevin Durant Underrated?

dude as a rookie with 1 yr college experience avg 20/4/2. Shot 43% FGs and 87% from the line. This year hes avg 26/6/2.9. increased his FG range and 3pt % and even steals. All this while being the only real scoring option for the Sonics/thunder. Now im dont watch to many OKC games so is this a case of him making only garbage points? Im sure teams are throwing doubles at him, and also the Thunder have been a .500 team for the past 20 games or so.

In comparison LBJ avg 20/5/6 1st year and then 27/7/7, not to far from Durants numbers.

Hes not close to LeBron, but hes definitely underrated.

Durant is only underrated because he plays on one of the worst teams in the league. Not to mention all that other bullshit going on with that franchise with the relocation and what not.

He doesn't get as much exposure as some of the other younger players.

The Thunder have a solid 3 to build around in him/green/westbrook and should be good in a couple of years.

athletically no where near lebron.. but he really aint got much to work with in oklahoma.. so he gets the chance to make plays all game.. he is good and he is underrated tho

Hes underrated and will be a top 5 player in no time. He has the ability to be as good as LeBron. Durant hasnt even come close to his ceiling yet, thats the scariest part.

He is not underrated. Name one person in mainstream press that has a bad thing to say about the kid. Playing for the Thunder yes he does not get that much exposure but who wants to see a team that is that bad anyway. His team will get better and he will get better. He came into the NBA and did everything if not more then i expected him to do, he is a great scorer and a good player to build a team around. Im not saying he is overrated, but he is definitely not underrated.

You can't really use stats as a comparison when Durant's playing for a team like the Thunder, especially if you're comparing him to LeBron.

I do think Durant is slightly underrated and that he has improved his shooting quite a bit from last year, but he still gets more than enough national attention considering how bad his team is.

I think i would put him in top 20 players i would use as a superstar to build around. Playing for OKC doesnt help him out.

Just because noone says bad things about a player doesnt mean hes not underrated. He could be not getting enough things said about him period. But you're right, Durant's time will come to shine.

If his team could win more then 20 games, he wouldn't be underrated. But since they blow, he is underrated. Probably a top 10 player in the NBA in a year or 2.
