Probably was JayRock. Next week he'll be pouring beer on an IU fan's head though.

Yeah one of these gets written up every week on various message boards during football season. There are assholes in every fan base, it is usually the minority but that's the stuff that will get sensationalized.

And UK fans are very "in your face" and quite dumb. Some people posted on a friends status like "UK will forget this next week when they're 1 again and IU will remember it forever." I'm like, uhhhh. Jayrock, your despise for all things Kentucky will continually grow as you attend IU.

Sounds like dude is butthurt because his team lost. I'm not excusing the Iu fans' behavior (fuck IU) but I'm guessing this sort of thing is standard...and that he exaggerated a lot of stuff in his story.

Maybe its different for basketball, but I was in Columbus for the Texas game back in 2005, there was a lot of burnt orange in Columbus that day and we all got along great before the game, talked to a lot fans and it was all very pleasant, before the game. Now after the game things might not have been so nice, but that was after a loss and a lot of beer.

I've been to IU-Purdue football games and went to some of the bars he mentioned. Also went tailgating. This didn't happen to me, maybe its cause no one cares about either football team though.

Surprisingly, Purdouche's get more respect then the hicks. It's mostly because we all have friends that go to Purdue and they're usually there to stick up for their school during those games. We have no personal connection with Kentucky kids so it gets a lot more heated. Football everybody just gets drunk at tailgates and usually only diehards go to the games, basketball at IU is wayyy different.

I know that when we travel to places like Northwestern our fans often out number their game, I am not sure about IU or Purdue, but I know we travel well enough to make it noticeable.

It's hard to gauge how many OSU fans are at IU games because the colors are so similar. Most kids at IU have at least some like for OSU, and a lot of the students even come out in OSU garb and they get heckled but it's not violent at all. We respect that program. We don't fight for recruits and we can't compete. Kentucky basketball is the opposite.

And yeah, you missed the fuck out. Being on the court was crazy. Kirkwood was insane afterward. There was a lot of vom everywhere on Sunday.
its hard to have many people there when the school is only given 100 tickets

People that write articles like this are morons, you dont go into someone else's house and expect to be welcomed with open arms. We fought our way out to the car leaving Louisville's football stadium last year but im not rushing to the internet to tell you about it. There is a certain level of respect for the away teams fans visiting your place if its not a rivalry game, but if it is all bets are off. IU and UK is a rivalry going back many years.

IU fans are like Kansas fans in basketball everyone else cheats, they are squeaky clean . Kentucky has the biggest Compliance program in the country but shhhhhhhhhh dont tell the keyboard tough guys that. Tom Crean has even had IU impose sanctions on the program since he's been there in his short stint.

I never understood why anybody ever gives an opposing fan shit at a game though. Good natured ribbing is cool but physical confrontation, threats, or anything else that crosses that line just doesn't make sense to me. I just don't get what pleasure can be derived from it.

You are both there to enjoy the game, so STFU and do so.
