What a second half, held the Hawks to 29 points in the second half. Great overall defensive performance. Needed that game, we could of been looking at 3 straight losses after tomorrow night.

I'll say this though, McGrady had his way in the 1st half. We couldnt cover him. LeBron might go for 50 tomorrow night if we don't sure that up.

I might not be a big Iggy supporter but he did hold Joe Johnson to 8 points tonight. I think LeBron will have a good game, but I'm more worried about Bosh abusing old ass Elton Brand. I hope Thad gets a lot of minutes at the 4 tomorrow night to match Bosh's athleticism, I wouldn't even mind seeing Lavoy get some minutes. Also hopefully Big Spence is back by Wednesday.

Watched the first 3 quarters of the game last night, the Sixers just could NOT get a stop and Heat were hitting pretty much every shot.

I thought we were right there until Vucevic got hurt, than the wheels came off. I thought ET had a great showing.

We need a healthy Hawes and Vuc to play with these top tier teams..

Every time I turn on the Sixers to check in on the game they're up by at least 15+ points, it's pretty crazy.

Just destroyed Detroit tonight with a front court of Elton Brand, Tony Battie, and LaVoy Allen. Iggy with a triple double. I think 6 players were in double figures.

Amare to Philly trade rumors starting to pop up, am I the only person who doesn't think this is a good thing if the Sixers do it?

They'd have to give at least Evan Turner OR Louis Williams, if not both, up in the deal or worse, draft picks.

We need a premier low post scorer, but you have to keep ET.

I rather just wait til the offseason and see what we can get with having a max contract available. Let the Knicks pay for Amare when he has no knees left and let them feel like we did when we had Webber and now Brand. They can have the superstars in NYC, I love the chemistry this team has this year and maybe we will be able to bring someone good in this summer who will be a better fit.

Even with a dissinterested Howard last night, I thought Brand did a hell of a job on him in the 4th quarter. Bulls up next....

Looks like Vuc is back in the rotation...Hawes is getting close

That was Spencer Hawes on the court Tuesday at the PCOM Center, playing a little post-practice two-on-two, moving without a limp, making some shots, defending against Nikola Vucevic.

That was also Spencer Hawes later, insisting that he does not know yet when he will be able to return to game action due to a lingering left Achilles’ strain.

“I’ll know when I can play when I can really run,” he said. “If we could play in the half-court, I could probably be OK and kind of cover it up. But when I have to get up and get up on my toes and change directions, that’s the thing I still have to continue to work on.”

Hawes has missed the last eight games with the injury, nine overall this season including time off with a sore back.

Vucevic has missed the last five games with quad and knee issues but is ready to return.

“I think Spencer will return when he is ready,” Doug Collins said. “I just said to him, ‘Obviously we miss you and we need you.’ But it has to be when he is comfortable and he is ready to go. I’m not sure he is there.

“I know Nik is ready. He could have played last night. He’s ready. But with the way Lavoy Allen is playing —- and Tony Battie was great last night —- I just couldn’t find a spot for him. But Nik is ready to play.”

As for Hawes, he is getting close.

“Today was the best it’s felt,” he said. “And getting out and being able to play two-on-two helped because a lot of it is getting back mentally to where you are comfortable and you don’t have to think about the movements. When you are doing drills, it kind of gets the juices going and lets you get past that block and test it out.

“It is still not 100 percent, but it’s the best that it’s felt.” Continued...

A day after expressing disappointment in the way his team closed out a 74-69 victory over the Orlando Magic, Collins orchestrated a relatively brief but necessary 35-minute practice Tuesday.

“We didn’t do a good job finishing that game last night,” he said. “Not rebounding. Not making free throws. Not paying attention to the little things we do. We just don’t want it to be a

                          carryover.”

Overall, Collins has been satisfied with the Sixers’ defense. But those are the Bulls coming to the Wells Fargo Center Wednesday, along with the reigning NBA MVP.

“Our defense has been very good, and it is going to be very tested against the Bulls,” Collins said. “Derrick Rose is incredible. That guy is an amazing player. He is so good at breaking your defenses down and creating opportunities in the pick-and-roll game. So we are going to have to play really good.”

Like Rose, Evan Turner is from Chicago. The second-year Sixer remembers playing against Rose in high school and AAU settings.

                          And? Continued...

“I mean, I did my thing,” Turner said, smiling.

I really don't know what Philly would want with Stoudemire.......he isn't even a low post scorer anymore.

Gotta love our bench this year. Thad with 19 points and 8 rebounds, Lavoy with 15 points and 6 rebounds, Lou Will with 14 points and 6 assists. Usually going to win games when your bench is doing that and plus Jrue and Iggy showed us that they can step up in big games, gotta love it. Let's beat the Heat on Friday and prove the rest of the doubters wrong.
