In the NBA draft lottery teams are assigned a certain number of chances to get a pick. Its not just one envelope/ball per team.

Look at the screen when David Stern picks up the envelope you can see that La Clippers already have been drawn for the number 3 pick. This was the final drawing which solely decided who gets Patrick Ewing and what loser ends up with Wayman Tisdale at 2.
    Not sure if srs.

There are 7 envelopes thrown in the sphere, and there are 7 spots on the draft board, with no teams on them when Stern picks the #1 pick envelope.

The video then fast-forwards to Stern announcing the #2 pick, after the other spots have been selected.

I wish Stern would do something this year, because I really don't want to see Anthony Davis go to Charlotte. BTW, Charlotte has been bad for a long time, which means they've had a lot of lottery pics.....why is it Augustin is their best player? I like Augistin, but he has no business being your best player when you've pretty much had a lottery pic your entire existence. They need some new personel guys badly.

I don't think the Ewing draft was rigged, but I can see why it would be, so meh. I don't agree with the conspiracy theory of sending Duncan to San Antonio.

They've really blown their lottery picks for the most part.

Okafor turned out to have a maxed out ceiling relatively quickly. Adam Morrison speaks for himself. Bismack was a horrible pick and while Kemba Walker is okay he's not a star by any means.

          Pathetic franchise all around.

Because we are the worst-run franchise in the league.

So many baffling decisions and we haven't even made it a decade yet.

I remember the Howard/Okafor debates. They were do you draft a scrawny highschool kid with potential or do you draft the proven defensive stalwart? LOL. In fairness to the Bobcats Okafor was the next best prospect on the board. As for Morrison I really don't know what to say. I did think he'd at least be a serviceable guy off the bench, but he isn't even that. I had a lot of debates on another forum about him.....guy called me a racist, because I felt Morrison was going to below average at best.
              Bobcats Draft lottery history

              2004 - Emeka Okafor
2005 - Raymond Felton and Sean May
              2006 - Adam Morrison
              2007 - Brandon Wright
              2008 - DJ Augustin
              2009 - Gerald Henderson
2011 - Kemba Walker and Bismark Biyombo
lol...they should stay away from UNC prospects.

                Barkley "leery" of lottery possibilities

"I've got to tell you something, I'm really concerned about the number one pick in the draft this year. Well, number one, I think Michael would take Anthony Davis or I'd kill him (laughs). I can't say this, but I'm going to be watching the draft lottery very closely because I don't want no shenanigans."

What are you alluding to? What do you think could happen?

"I'm going to be very leery if Anthony Davis ends up in Brooklyn. You know, I'm going to be very leery because I know the NBA has a lot riding on that new arena, especially if Deron Williams leaves New Jersey. They didn't get Dwight Howard. I'm going to be very leery if New Jersey gets that number one pick."

Are you a conspiracy theorist Chuck?

                "I am. I am. (laughs) I am."

You think somebody got freezer burned from dry ice in the old ping pong ball days when they put their hand in that?

"You know, I go back to Patrick Ewing, so I believe in the conspiracy theories."
