Larry Brown has agreed to become Head Coach at SMU, Rod Strickland comes along.

Larry Brown has agreed to become the head coach at SMU, sources told ESPN.com. An official announcement could come as early as Tuesday.

Kentucky websites are reporting Rod Strickland is leaving Kentucky to join Larry Brown's staff at SMU. Strickland was stripped of "assistant coach" title and has been working as an "admnistrative assistant" to the basketball program at UK last two years after multiple DUIs.

I was wondering why Strickland would leave Kentucky for SMU....seems like a backwards move, especially considering Brown probably won't be at SMU longer than 2-3 years.....

to him, this is not "falling"...this is him going somewhere to coach. Less pressure than coaching Kansas or UNC. He was a success in college and the pros and his status as a great coach is written in stone. He has nothing left to prove.

Also, you gotta remember that he was at his best at Kansas if you ignore his recruiting scandal. The dude's an amazing basketball mind. I'm jealous of SMU, but fuck that, I'm love me some Tom Crean.
