He'll go for it. Whether he gets it, IDK. Means more to him than it does to KD though.

word on the street the Mamba will play, even if most of the rest of the team won't. his quote was "I'm not on vacation, if I'm healthy, I'll play." Mike Brown has also come out to say that he isnt going to tell guys to sit, he's basically gonna say "if you wanna take the night off, you can"

in other words, it will be a classic Kobe game, where nobody else matters except for him.

I expect him to play and I hope he goes for it......as stevsta said when he retires these things add to his legacy.

He'll go for it. And it's Kobe, he'll get it. Probably by the end of the 3rd quarter so he can rest in the 4th.

I finally looked at all his shooting stats for the season and just like everyone I was blown away by the number of shots he's taken!
                I give rep not thanks

This is a sign Kobe is getting old, because a few years ago he would have scored 38 in the first quarter just to prove a point.

Surprisingly classy move on his part.

That means us getting ready for Sunday [for the playoff opener]."
He's got a point there, we all know he could have done it if he wanted to do it. @ralaw : when you're kobe, you don't have to prove that point. That's pretty badass right there.

Not to get into the Kobe vs Jordan argument, but, even as a Suns fan and bonafide Laker hater, Kobe is still the best basketball player i've ever seen and I think the all-time scoring record and his 6th ring are way more important to him than a regular season scoring title.

I still remember when The Admiral was trailing Shaq for the scoring title the last game of the season and dropped 71 that night to win it. I miss the 90s NBA.
