Now that the Wizards traded for Okafor I don't think they should take Thomas Robinson. I think Harrison Barnes needs to be the pick now. He'll provide instant offense to a lineup that is being built to be a little heavy on the defensive side. I would then ideally like to get a backup PG but the draft is so weak at PG.

Would Jordan Crawford start at the 2 then with Ariza at the three and Barnes off the bench? I don't think Barnes and Ariza would be able to play together very efficiently at all, and with Wall at the point with those two there is virtually no outside shooting. I'm going to be hugely surprised if they don't take Beal at 3 so long as the Bobcats don't take him.

        I'd say it goes

        PG-Wall
        SG-Crawford
        SF-Barnes
        PF-Okafor
        C-Nene

I'm actually impressed with what the Wizards are doing. I know many aren't high on Okafor, but I think pending their draft pick they could have one of the best starting fives in the east. If Wall makes the next step as a 20/9 type player they'll be pretty solid.

The difference between a team hovering around that 8th seed and the Wizards is they have a Superstar in the making and another top pick coming in now, so they should only get better.

Royce White Cancels Workouts, Believed To Have Promise From Celtics

Royce White has canceled all of his remaining workouts and is believed to have a promise.
Chad Ford reports that the promise is believed to be from Boston with the 21st and 22nd overall picks.

RealGM had White going to the Celtics with the 21st pick in their most recent mock released Thursday morning.

Morey: Rockets Unlikely To Move Up In Draft, See Value In First Round Picks

Daryl Morey said it's unlikely the Rockets will make a deal to move up in the draft.

“I think it’s always hard,” Morey said of making a significant move up in the draft. “I think teams fall in love with who they might get so it’s very hard, unless you’re already top-10, to move within the top-10. I think if there is a move up option it will be for a couple spots versus a big leap. We would like to move quite a bit up but I think that’s unrealistic."

Houston owns the 14th and 16th picks in the draft, which begins Thursday night.

“The nice thing is that after maybe the first three-to-five guys, it’s pretty flat," Morey said. "We could easily get someone who we might rank six or seven at 14, just because it’s very unpredictable after the first three-to-five picks in this draft.”

Kevin Jones has a first round guarantee. Very surprising, I don't even think many mocks had him being drafted in the first half of the 2nd round.

I actually think Barnes to Wiz would be a very good fit...

Wall, someone who can get to the rim and get defenders to draw to him, and Barnes main asset is he's a solid spot up 3pt shooter...

Wizards are taking Brad Beal at #3 if he's still available. There are rumors that the Cavs have made offers to the bobcats trying to get the #2 pick for Beal though. Why would the Wizards take Barnes? We already have 7 or 8 forwards and most of them are recent 1st round picks. The starting line up is going to be

                      1-Wall
                      2-Beal
                      3-Ariza
                      4-Okafor
                      5-Nene

With crawford, singleton, vesely, booker, mack and seraphin off the bench. We also have the second pick in the second round and some say Quincy Miller may fall to us.

We noted a couple of days ago that the Cleveland Cavaliers were interested in trading up in next week's draft so they could select Florida's Bradley Beal with the Charlotte Bobcats' No. 2 overall pick. Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer believes a trade of draft picks between the two teams could well happen.

"After calling some sources with lottery picks Saturday, I wouldn't be surprised at all if the Charlotte Bobcats and Cleveland Cavaliers swap draft picks in Thursday's draft. In that sort of a deal, the Bobcats would pick fourth and 24th and the Cavs would move up to No. 2," Bonnell said.

"From the day he became part of this front office, general manager Rich Cho has talked about gathering extra assets, and that generally means extra first-round picks. It's a strategy the Oklahoma City Thunder leaned on when Cho was part of that front office."

There are plenty of rumors and smokescreens out there as the draft nears, but this one at least makes sense for the parties involved -- especially if the Cavs really want a player like Beal and they think the Washington Wizards will take him with the third overall pick.

Sounds like we're going all in to get Bradley "The Real Deal" Beal. Count me in, if that is the guy they want that bad I'm all for trading up.

Really hoping the Bobcats take Beal at #2.

I don't want to see us trade down. Granted, I understand the philosophy of acquiring assets, and lots of them given how pathetic we were, but with a guy like Beal sitting there I just don't see how you can pass him up. I think he's going to be a superstar and passing on him would be the latest boneheaded Bobcats/MJ draft decision in a long line of them, and possibly the worst.

You don't think Robinson will pan out? I think part of the reason a lot of people see the Cats taking him is because of how much of a sure thing he is set out to be.

A week ago you said you will hate the CAVS if they draft Beal and you didn't like him at all.
