Statistically I believe Carmelo is the most successful active scorer in the NBA in "clutch" situations according to 82games, but I think most people, teammates and we fans included, would agree to defer to Kobe. He's "the closer" on the team, so to speak.

U.S. plays Nigeria later today....the same Nigerian team that lost 72-53 to Lithuania Tuesday.

Only NBA guys with them are Aminu and Diogu.

Nigeria shot 16/66 from the field and 1/16 from three with only 3 assists on Tuesday.

Watching the US dominate gets a bit boring and redundant. I am open to the idea of putting an age limit on the roster. I believe it was 23 and under or something.

I'm not sure if I like that idea. Some guys could lose their chance to play due to age and situations with the limit as well

I just think the preliminary round is too long and includes too many teams. Five games? Come on, we know who the best 4 teams are, start the semis already lol.

Meh, most of the top guys who play would have a chance to play within their first 4 seasons. I understand Amuricans like to dominate, but watching their games just becomes horrible, because it's obvious none of these other countries can play with our absolute best. I watched the France/Lithuania game and it was a great game, but Amurica just runs through these teams and we get to watch James, Kobe, etc laugh and joke on the bench. It just gets sort of meh after the 1st quarter. I'd like to see our absolute best guys under the age of 23 and they don't necessarily have to be in the NBA. For instance, if the Olympics was next year I wouldn't mind seeing the top guys who are still in college mixed in with our top under 23 year old NBA players.

It's a showcase, but you are right watching Amurica beat up on Nigeria, Tunisia, etc and watching Spain or Argentina believe they have a chance is rather lame.
