I know Linas Kleiza is not exactly Arvidas Sabonis, but this Lithuania team has some skill.

In other news, Russia knocked off Spain to take the top spot in the other group.

'92 Croatia had more than some skill. Three legitimate NBA stars (Petrovic, Kukoc, Radja) and three other NBA players. Very good team. Great team, even. Crushed by the Dream Team with minimal effort. Twice. And they were easily the best in the field, unlike this middling Lithuania team that most think isn't as good as Spain or Argentina, and on par with France.

The '12 team is the second best team ever assembled. Awesome team. It stops there.

I would not even go that far. I'd take the '96 or '08 team over this one.

Beat me to it. 1996 team is very underrated. Id take them #2 after the 92 team

I like this prime LBJ more than any other player from those others. He decided to beat Lithuania today with 5 minutes left, so he did.

Agreed. That was fun, i'm glad I randomly watched a reply after sleeping in and not knowing the spoiler.

USA's interior D sucked..alot of driving lanes left open and inside scoring...

that would be a problem against the 92 team, considering this team has one consistently playing, true, good post defender(anthony davis too..but his time is a little more sporadic)

pocius is a really underrated player...doesn't play in the NBA..but he can ball...

USA played pretty bad today...61% FT shooting and 30% from 3? yikes

hopefully they got this game out of their system

On to the quarterfinals Wednesday against the Aussies.

They had a one point lead over Argentina at the half before Durant took the game over and they ended up winning in a blow out. They can see them again in the semi's...would make for an interesting game considering today was more physical than the rest of their games so far.

                      28 points for Durant.

Don't agree at all with crippling the United States team to be 23 and under. Why would you want to send anyone other than the best out there? I'd rather not risk one of our sure gold medals to other teams. I don't really care about seeing competitive games, its the fucking olympics. If I want to see competition I'll watch the NBA or the NCAA. In the Olympics I want to see every country's best players.

I really dont want to even get into a retarded Dream Team vs 2012 team debate.. but its pretty obvious that these guys often play with a lot less intensity/effort than the Dream Team likely did. They almost coasted thru the Lithuania game and the first half of the Argentina and Tunisia games. Why? Not really sure. But they seem to have a very lackluster attitude towards the games.. chucking 3's, taking bad shots, playing lax defense.. but when they turn it on and focus they are unstoppable.
