Spain and Russia were worthy opponents, but once again the U.S proves it's the best basketball nation in the world. Other countries send their best, so we send ours - what's the problem?
Frankly, the Dream Team of 1992 started something great for basketball period. 20 years ago, no one could even walk on the floor with the Americans ... now they only lose by seven points and send great players to the NBA.

Only people whining about sending the best Americans to the Olympics are David Stern and NBA owners. Everyone else loves watching the games, including every non-American.

I absolutely agree the U.S. is the world's greatest basketball nation, but that gap is closing with every Olympics. Without LeBron and Marc Gasol's foul troubles, who the hell knows how that game turns out. Not calling the ref a U.S. booster, btw, he sucked period - for both teams.

Probably because he spent the previous 40 minutes getting his ass pounded by the Gasol brothers.
