    VSN NBA Mock Draft 1.0

Version 1.0 [the only version there will be ]

    1. New Orleans Hornets – Anthony Davis, PF, Kentucky
Davis is the best player in the draft. He will go first.
    2. Cleveland Cavaliers [from Charlotte] – Bradley Beal, SG, Florida
I think the Cavs will give the Bobcats an offer they can’t resist to get the guy they want. The backcourt of Killa Kyrie and The Real Deal Beal might be enough to get the Cavs in the playoffs next year.
    3. Washington Wizards – Harrison Barnes, SF, North Carolina
The Wizards will be upset that Beal didn’t fall to them at 3, but settle for Barnes. Even with the recent addition of Trevor Ariza, I still think they will take Barnes here.
    4. Charlotte Bobcats [from Cleveland] – Thomas Robinson, PF, Kansas
Word around Bobcat camp is Thomas Robinson is the guy they want. The Cavs will offer up all their picks from this years’ draft which Charlotte won’t be able to resist. They stockpile picks and still get the guy they want.
    5. Sacramento Kings – Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, SF, Kentucky
MKG is someone who I think will be a very good NBA player so I can’t see him slipping past 5. The Kings add another great young player to an already young core.
    6. Portland Trail Blazers – Damian Lillard, PG, Weber St.
This is where things could go a lot of different directions as far as picks go. Portland has a couple glaring needs and point guard is one of them. Lillard is the best one in the draft so they pick him here. They may also look at Andre Drummond at this pick.
    7. Golden State Warriors – Andre Drummond, C, Connecticut
This year’s patented “high risk, high reward” prospect as there are many questions regarding Drummond. His own collegiate teammate Jeremy Lamb called him lazy in a recent interview.
    8. Toronto Raptors – Dion Waiters, SG, Syracuse
Toronto is surely taking a guard with this pick. Whether it is Waiters, Jeremy Lamb or Austin Rivers remains to be seen.
    9. Detroit Pistons – John Henson, PF, North Carolina
Henson is exactly what the Pistons want. Greg Monroe finally gets a running mate and the Pistons continue a successful rebuild via the draft.
    10. New Orleans Hornets – Austin Rivers, SG, Duke
After getting their big man with the first pick, the Hornets go after another need with this pick. The status of Eric Gordon remains up in the air but either way they need to get someone to pair up with him or take his spot if he leaves. Austin Rivers might be the steal of the draft at this pick.
    11. Portland Trail Blazers – Meyers Leonard, C, Illinois
Time to move on from the Greg Oden failure. The last one didn’t work out so well, but Leonard could be a great pick here for Portland especially if they get a guard with the 6th pick.
    12. Houston Rockets – Jeremy Lamb, SG, Connecticut
This could very well be another’s teams pick by the end of draft night, but if Houston keeps it they may not be able to pass on Lamb.
    13. Phoenix Suns – Kendall Marshall, PG, North Carolina
With Steve Nash potentially headed north of the border, the Suns get a great replacement in Kendall Marshall. Marshall and Brook Lopez would have the potential to put up some nice numbers together.
    14. Milwaukee Bucks – Tyler Zeller, PF, North Carolina
Before they traded with the Rockets and got Dalembert I had them taking Zeller with the 12th pick. They would be very pleased if he slipped to 14 because they would still get the player they want.
    15. Philadelphia 76ers – Terrence Jones, PF, Kentucky
A VSN Insider reported that the 76ers have narrowed their list down to two guys. Terrence Jones and Jared Sullinger. I think Jones gets picked over Sullinger due to the recent health concerns raised about the Ohio State forward.
    16. Houston Rockets – Jared Sullinger, PF, Ohio State
Jared Sullinger went from a probable top 5 pick in last year’s lottery to a mid 1st rounder this year. Sometimes maybe it’s best for kids to leave when they know they will be taken high. The Sullinger and Lamb pick could be put together in a package deal to try and land Dwight Howard.
    17. Dallas Mavericks – Moe Harkless, SF, St. Johns
I’m real high on this guy. I think he could be a special player in the NBA. Harkless has a year to learn behind Shawn Marion and could develop into a star player for the Mavs.
    18. Houston Rockets – Marquis Teague, PG, Kentucky
Another potential draft pick of the Orlando Magic. If the Howard deal happens, they could be looking to build around a young core through the draft. Teague, Lamb, and Sullinger is not a bad starting point.
    19. Orlando Magic – Arnett Moultrie, PF, Mississippi St.
If Moultrie is still on the board at this point the Magic won’t be able to pass on him. They have to prepare for life after Dwight and Moultrie is someone to start with.
    20. Denver Nuggets – Terrence Ross, SG, Washington
Another too good to pass up pick as Ross unexpectedly slides down to the 20th pick. The Nuggets would have to consider taking him if he is still on the board.
    21. Boston Celtics – Royce White, SF, Iowa St.
No one will own up to the supposed “promise” Royce White was given. I think it was the Celtics.
    22. Boston Celtics – Andrew Nicholson, PF, St. Bonaventure
The heir-apparent to KG. Nicholson has the same build as Garnett did when he came in to the league. The Celtics have to start preparing for the future.
    23. Atlanta Hawks – John Jenkins, SG, Vanderbilt
Who knows what direction new GM Danny Ferry will take with the Hawks, but Jenkins could be a surprise pick here. Jenkins has the ability to score many ways and would be a great compliment to Jeff Teague.
    24. Charlotte Bobcats [from Cleveland] – Will Barton, SG, Memphis
The Bobcats receive this pick after trading down from the 2 spot with Cleveland. After taking big man Thomas Robinson earlier, they get another scoring option to play alongside Kemba Walker.
    25. Memphis Grizzlies – Tony Wroten Jr., PG, Washington
Mike Conley has starting to come into his own as the PG in Memphis but there is no depth behind him. Wroten provides some size at the position that Conley lacks.
    26. Indiana Pacers – Draymond Green, SF, Michigan St.
With Larry Bird stepping down, maybe the Pacers will pick an African-american player. Draymond Green won’t be a flashy player in the league, but he can do all the little things and provide energy off the bench.
    27. Miami Heat – Fab Melo, C, Syracuse
Fab Melo immediately gives the Heat more of a defensive presence down low. Melo wins the sweep stakes to go play in Miami with the Big 3.
    28. Oklahoma City Thunder – Jeffrey Taylor, SF, Vanderbilt
Kevin Durant needs a little help behind him. Taylor would provide more defense than Durant can on the quicker players.
    29. Chicago Bulls – Doron Lamb, SG, Kentucky
The status of Derrick Rose is still uncertain for next season. Lamb gives the Bulls a scoring threat to try and soften the blow of missing Rose.
    30. Golden State Warriors – Evan Fournier, SG, France
The first foreign player is taken off the board with the last pick in the first round. That is a huge change up from recent drafts where we consistently saw foreign born players taken in the top 10.

I know this had so many views and what not so I'm sure you all already know I nailed a few random picks.

Nailed Leonard to Portland, Marshall to the Suns..Jenkins to the Hawks and Wroten to Memphis.

Expect VSN NBA DRAFT GRADES to come in a few days.
