    Clippers sign Crawford and Billups

The Clippers were informed on Thursday that guards Jamal Crawford and Chauncey Billups intend to sign contracts with the team when the NBA’s moratorium period is lifted for free agents to sign deals, according to NBA executives who were not authorized to speak publicly on the matter.

With Crawford and Billups reaching deals with the Clippers, L.A. cancelled the visit they had planned for free agent shooting guard Ray Allen on Friday.

Now all that's missing is another decent 3, a backup center, and a new coach. Oh wait VDN didn't get fired .

The Clips aren't playing around. I guess this means Nick Young will have to look elsewhere.

        Yep. No more Swaggy P.

But it looks like Boston would be the best fit.

You are happy they signed a 32 year old Crawford to a three year deal coming off of his worst season ever as a pro?

I actually think Crawford is a good pickup.........the Blazers were a mess last year. I'm sure he isn't being brought in, but to provide scoring/playmaking off the bench and in that role and on this team I think he'll be good.

Crawford is just streaky. Portland wasn't the reason he struggled, he just couldn't hit his shots with plenty of opportunities.

I'd like the Bulls to explore Nick Young.

                Instead, we're contacting Kirk Hinrich.

I like this signing for the Clippers. IMO if Crawford can go back to Crawford before going to Portland the Clippers have a good shot at contending in the West.

If you think Nick Young will sign for $3M

And I talked about this on twitter with you and others, I'd much rather see the Bulls go all out in clearing cap space for the future to get out of basketball hell. If the Hawks can trade Joe Johnson and win, there's no reason the Bulls can't trade Deng, Noah or Boozer.

Getting passes from Chris Paul is good for your health.

What do you need Swaggy P for when you got Rip? Bulls managment is pretty bad.

No way Nick Young signs for less than 5 mill a year, the guy highly over values himself.

Okay but you realize how ball-less the organization is? Deng could've been moved years ago, he wasn't. Noah could've been moved years ago, he wasn't and although Joe Johnson's contract is worse, you will have an easier time trading him.

I'm not saying you keep the core together and sign Nick Young or someone of that level and say "OKAY NOW WE'RE GOOD TO GO!". I'm looking long term at 3rd or 4th scorer. Right now I'm trying to trade Deng as hard as I can, not really worrying about next year, amnestying Boozer after next year, getting Mriotic over and trying at free agency next offseason. Still you have to have the basis of a somewhat good roster before you go about that soft rebuild. The lack of playing movement shows it's going to be much of the same for the next 3-4 years.

My issue with the lack of movement on the Bulls end is the idea that this core is going to win a title. I know they are thinking they would have won the title had Rose not been hurt which is the dumbest line of thinking ever. Maybe not, who knows, but the very fact they are targeting guys like Kirk Hinrich shows they think it's very, very small tweaks to the roster that will make them a contender again.
