Source: Marcus Camby on Verge of Being Dealt to Knicks

Camby is meeting with both teams this weekend.

Miami would have offered him their MLE, just over $3 million but that was taken by Ray Allen. Not sure what they're able to offer him now in addition to a starting center job.

The Knicks likely can't offer their MLE either because it's unknown whether Jason Kidd will take it up, plus, they're offering him a spot off the bench behind Tyson Chandler.

ESPN says other teams possibly in play include Dallas, Houston and San Antonio.

If the Knicks can't get him, they'll look to maintain Jared Jeffries.

Camby has made a lot of money in his NBA career, same with Rashard Lewis.

If there are two guys that can go take a vet minimum deal to win a ring, its Marcus Camby and Rashard Lewis...they just happen to be the next two guys on the Miami Heat queue.

ESPN has a source who would be 'shocked' if Camby takes the vet minimum.

Gotta add more paper to the bank.

ESPN says the Knicks are the favorite to land Camby in a sign and trade.

Believe it when I see it after the shit Nash pulled.

Huffington Post's guy Jordan Schultz (@206child) tweets:

Source confirms #Knicks are on verge of acquiring Marcus Camby via sign-and-trade for Toney Douglas, Josh Harrelson, Dan Gadzuric, Jerome Jordan.
Not sure if all 4 would be involved, or some of them.

I'll take the move. Unfortunately, Douglas' time in NY was done. Hope he can find a role in Houston. Harrelson is a good guy off the bench...the others are meh.

Camby as depth behind Chandler is sweet.

Right now the Knicks are better than the Nets, but once they get Howard not so much.

Well yeah, if they get Dwight, they're automatically #1 or #2 in the east.

Knicks will be lucky to finish 6 or better.

                          Rotoworld

Adrian Wojnarowski reported Monday that the Knicks will ink free agent Marcus Camby to a three-year, $13.2 million deal, which will be executed as a sign-and-trade with the Rockets receiving Toney Douglas, Jerome Jordan, and Josh Harrellson.

In return the Rockets will receive the Knicks' second round picks in 2014 and 2015, and the Knicks will pay Douglas' salary in Houston. It's hard not to like this deal for both Camby and the Knicks, as he'll provide excellent depth in the frontcourt and also keep Amare Stoudemire a bit more fresh. From a fantasy perspective, he won't be worth drafting in standard formats.

Someone said the picks were a thank you gift for setting up the sign and trade because he wouldn't have signed for the vet minimum.
