Let him walk for nothing in return, or get an all-star caliber C, an up and coming SG in Brooks, and several picks.........HMMMMM

How does the crowd feel about option #2?

If they are getting Brooks then it's a good deal. Empire's post was suggesting they wouldn't. Also, those picks aren't worth shit.

4+ picks should develop a decent role player. Either way, getting Lopez alone is a good deal for them rather than letting him walk.

You might be able to develop a couple bench players with those picks, and Lopez is incredibly overrated.

Forget this Lopez (meh) and multiple late round trash picks for Howard...........If I'm the Magic I trade for Bynum and call it a day. Bynum is a franchise guy and Orlando is a solid franchise. I think they could convince him to stay. His biggest issue in LA is that he's behind Kobe and doesn't get the touches............in Orlando he'd get more than enough.

Latest reports have this as the bulk of the deal

To Orlando: C Brook Lopez, 4 First Round Draft Picks (3 From BK, 1 from 4th Team) and assorted other contract year players

To Brooklyn: C Dwight Howard, G Jason Richardson, & more?

To Cleveland: F Kris Humphries, 1 First Round Draft Pick (from ???)

To 4th Team: G Marshon Brooks

-Depends on whether Humphries forces Cleveland to sign him to a long-term deal...which they have little interest in.
-Plus, Lopez would have to sign an extension (imagine him refusing to go to ORL, lol)

Not really Lopez has some nice upside before last dude played and started in 162 straight games granted he isn't on Dwights level.

Upside? At this point being 4 years into the league he is who he is. He'll get you some points, block some shots and not do much else.

Orlando is in a shitty spot, do you really think a better deal is out there?

This, At this point Orlando has to take what it can get. And No trading for Bynum wouldn't be smart the guy has glass knees and is in a contract year.

For me I'd rather take the gamble on an all-star and second best center in the league in Bynum over an above average center in Lopez. Lopez is a good player, but he isn't going to do anything that will help your team win games. This is a league where you need stars to win......Lopez and a bunch of draft picks for Howard just wouldn't do it for me. Obviously the Lakers would need Howard to agree to resign (I've heard rumors that he has, but not sure if true).

Meh, in the future it probably will be a problem, but he's 24 and played a full season, so I'm optimistic.

It was kind of funny, I was reading on twitter all of these hypothetical deals (that wouldn't happen) where Orlando gets so much better than the shit they're going to get from the Nets. There are so many other teams that could offer so much more appealing pieces, but the Nets are seemingly the only destination possible right now so the Magic are going to get stuck with an absolutely awful trade, especially if Lopez ends up with a max contract. That would be laughable.

Lopez is a one dimensional center that provides solid scoring and nothing else. Bynum rebounds and is capable of protecting the rim at an elite level, and is probably at this point just as capable offensively as Lopez.
