The Bucks and Ersan Ilyasova have officially agreed on a five-year, $45 million contract, with the fifth year as a team option.
Nothing can become official until July 11 and it's uncertain whether part of the quoted salary includes performance-based incentives. Ilyasova didn't come cheap but by retaining him the Bucks have some momentum toward a playoff berth in 2012-13, with the hopes that Ersan builds on last season as he enters his prime. In 41 starts last year, he averaged 14.2 points, 1.0 threes, 8.9 rebounds, 0.8 steals and 0.7 blocks in just 29 minutes per game. He also shot terrific percentages (51.9 FGs/47.1 threes/78.6 FTs) and is poised to be a fantasy monster.
