Brook Lopez Signs Four-Year, $61 Million Deal With Nets.

    Rotoworld

Brook Lopez signs four-year, $61 million deal with Nets.

It's official. Dwight Howard will not be going to New Jersey any time soon, as Lopez can't be traded until Jan. 15. The Nets will boast a starting lineup of Deron Williams, Joe Johnson, Gerald Wallace, Mirza Teletovic and Lopez, with MarShon Brooks as sixth man. And that looks like a pretty good team, despite not featuring Howard.

That's more like it. Trying to go from the outhouse to the penthouse in months. Screw that.

Who thought Jo Noah's 5/60 wouldn't be a bad deal?

It's cool though he doesn't have "glass knees" like Bynum.

Howard deal wasn't going to happen...Lopez is a fine young center. 20/8 type guy, at 24 years old...could do worse. Overpaid, but that's market value (Hibbert).

            Lopez
            Teletovic / Humphries
            Wallace
            Johnson / Brooks / Taylor
            Williams

            Not too bad. Playoff worthy.

              Agree with Larry.

Dwight Howard not worth the bother. He changes his mind every day. Not sure what the hell happened to Howard, he used to be a modest, God-fearing kid who didn't think the whole world revolved around him. So sad.

Howard is worth the hassle, but the Nets have been snake bitten in the past by waiting on someone else that never comes.

The difference between a "playoff worthy" team and a perennial championship contender is well worth some offseason trade hassle.

Lopez is a fine center he just doesn't offer up the defensive prow less that Howard can provide. He's pretty polished offensively though...the Nets still don't have much defensively in the front court...they have 3 solid to good defenders in JJ, Wallace and Deron though...and keeping Brooks around gives us some nice guard depth. Here's to hoping Al Thornton can do something and maybe re-sign GG...

He also is weak on the glass also. I don't think it's really that bad of a signing considering the Net's are going to be over the cap for quite a while. Might as well keep one of the most capable offensive centers on your team.

love the one you are with.

Howard fucked up so hard in this situation ; why the hell did he opt back in? he's displayed some serious eraticism, shot his own credibility, and ruined his reputation. He has gone Favre "while he retire?" status. Most NBA fans are tired of hearing about the situation, and I think Brooklyn was wise to just ride or die with their own guy. I have to respect the "shit or get off the pot" stance the Nets took.

Howard fucked up by opting in...

I think he realizes it, and now wants out...he wanted to leave, but either got conned into staying or signed on so he didn't get the PR hit. Either way, he made a mistake and now wants out...unfortunately, the only way he comes to Brooklyn (where I have no doubt is where he wants to play) is after Jan 15th now.

Unfortunately for Orlando, I think they'll get even less at that point.

Green signed with Indiana for $10M over 3 years.

Too much at the wing right now...no need for Green.
