NBA Open Court: New Season Started 10/9

    Anyone see last night's?

Shaq seems awfully bitter and asshurt over Dwight Howard. Him saying Brook Lopez is a better post player than Dwight Howard was rather odd. Then him demanding Dwight go for "28 and 15" to be considered dominant, while Shaq himself never went for 28-15 was rather odd. I'm glad Reggie called out Dwight over sounding bitter over it. Also, Shaq trying to argue he wasn't the #1 option in the Lakers offense during their championship run was hysterical. Miller "You averaged 35-15 against us! You weren't kicking it out!". Shaq just seemed fucking clueless last night on the show.

Barkley falling asleep on set was classic.

I missed it....what time did it come on? I watched the 30 for 30 episode, which was pretty good. Shaq routinely says some retarded things that really don't make much sense. I don't really understand it.

I'm sure they will rerun it a lot this week.

There is another one on next Tuesday at 10PM CST as well.

Shaq isn't that smart, honestly players opinions on other players especially retired ones seems really forced at times. I guess the easiest way to put this is Superstars, especially retired ones lack perspective and plain don't know some of the guys in the league. Unless of course they are a scout, coaching or a GM which Superstars rarely ever do.

I bet you Shaq doesn't even know which college Brook Lopez went to or what team he plays for.

Honestly, on Open Court it's usually really good. Shaq and Webber are usually the weak links. Steve Kerr, a former GM, is on the panel and Kenny Smith, Reggie Miller, and Steve Smith do a great job as well. Barkley is hit or miss.

I think this show was on last year too unless they changed the name of it.

Yeah, it was. By "new series" I meant new series of episodes.

Got it. It usually wasn't too awful, Reggie was always good, Kerr was always solid. Webber was generic but okay sometimes, Shaq was always terrible and apparently that hasn't changed.

Webber had an awful habit of seemingly zoning out and then not really knowing the topic then saying something kind of quasi related but unrelated enough to be sort of awkward. Shaq basically ruined the show last night with his ramblings.

I'm pretty sure Shaq called Brook as "Robin" Lopez. He has such a high opinion of Brook that he got him mixed up with His brother.

At this point i don't even know why he cares, i doubt Dwight passes his legacy. It's a shame they can't get along.

A few weeks ago they had a marathon and I enjoyed some of it. As with most I like Kenny Smith, Barkley, Kerr, Miller and Steve Smith, and Webber is tolerable, but Shaq is just a retard. I don't think people realize that he isn't the commentator that everyone thought he would be. It is one thing to know the game and an entirely different thing to be able to communicate it. IMO at times he tries too hard to be a contrarian.

ext week looks interesting only because it appears they put Webber on the spot a bit by making him choose between Jason Williams and Mike Bibby as the better PG. I'm hoping that since it doesn't involve post play that Shaqwill be quiet most of the time.

He needs his head examined if he picks J-Will.

I'm betting he picks Bibby. He seems to really respect him a lot from comments he's made on previous shows. In fairness to Webber if he does pick J-Will, he didn't get to play with Williams in his prime so there might be some of that "What could have been" stuff. In the end, next weeks show is geared towards guards so that plays right into the hands of the strongest contributors on the show(Miller, Smitty, Kerr, and Kenny) so I'm banking on it being a good one.

                              When was J-Will's prime exactly?
