He looked awful in what I saw. Like, he's not good at any one particular skill a player that plays his position should be good at. Maybe one day he will "progress" ... but into what, exactly? I can't project him as ever becoming useful because I don't see one useful skill he brings to the table.
Sorry.

That is true. He's at 42.9% right now at the rim and that's basically unacceptable. If he does add that, yeah, he'll look better, but I'd suspect you can say that about a lot of guys who have issues finishing. I'm not sure what evidence we have that he's going to figure that out.
From 3-9 feet: 21.4%. Oh lawdy lawd.Comment

Beats me. It's not unprecedented that a guy doesn't become a consistent finisher. It's doomed a lot of careers. Tyrus Thomas springs to mind as a guy who SHOULD have been able to become a consistent finisher and never did. (I would also like to point out that his bad % are still 20% better than Rivers) but that's the general point. I'm sure a lot of people said the same thing about Thomas "oh well when he gets better at finishing".
Rivers has a chance to, for sure, but I'm not about to ignore a historically bad percentage of restricted area efficiency just because someone is 19-years old. It's a huge issue at any point during an NBA player's career.Comment

Having seen 30 games of him I see better things everyday, Monty preaches defense and his has significantly improved in that over 30 games. He has the quickness to get by anyone; he just needs to learn how to finish. That skill alone will inflate his stat line in many ways. The he can't shoot thing is funny when I compared him to every top 10 guard drafted last year and 3 of the 4 shoot the same percentageComment

Just making a point bro, but you don't see anyone doing that. Just Rivers shit bruh. No one even has any real criticism. PT with the FT Percentage is the 1st logical gripe I have seen from you people. Yes dude struggles at the FT line. Something I hope will get better the more Monty has them fixing his shot.
