Suns & Grizzlies Talk Rudy Gay Trade

The Memphis Grizzlies and Phoenix Suns are engaged in trade discussions around Rudy Gay, sources told Yahoo! Sports.

The Suns desperately need a franchise face and have struggled to get any production on the wing, so targeting Gay makes some sense. There is no current framework in place for a deal, and the Grizzlies have insisted that Jared Dudley as well as future first-round picks are involved in any type of trade. Gay's name will continue to surface in trade rumors until if and when he's dealt.

For the Grizzlies?

They shed an insane amount of salary and avoid the luxury tax for a player that's only a year older than that will probably fit better within their framework anyways. If anything I'd think its pretty questionable for the Suns since I don't think plugging Gay and his max contract into that roster will exactly make them contenders, they're a team that needs their picks.

Probably isn't even worth talking about at this point though...
