The Kings and Aaron Brooks have agreed to a buyout.
Brooks had fallen behind both Isaiah Thomas and Jimmer Fredette in the rotation, appearing in just four of the last 12 games. He still shouldn't have trouble signing on as a backup elsewhere. The Rockets, Knicks and Jazz have all shown interest lately in acquiring a more explosive No. 2 point guard. Since the buyout was completed before Friday night's deadline, Brooks will be eligible to participate in the playoffs wherever he signs.
