I think the very first play had Hardarway banking in a shot, Dieng committing an obvious goaltend by hitting the ball after it had hit the backboard...no call. Cost Michigan 2 points right there.

To me, the worst part of the officiating was how they called the fast breaks. Michigan could never get easy buckets because Louisville was allowed to run back and allegedly strip the Michigan players from behind. Those are usually obligatory hack calls, yet the refs never called them. Amazingly, the only time the refs called a fast break foul on Louisville was after a Michigan player had passed to a teammate for an easy dunk. Then they would call a foul on the floor. The Trey Burke block foul call on Siva was, IMO, the big play of the game. Not only did it expand UL's lead from 3 to 5, it killed UM's momentum and gave Burke his 4th foul. I don't know if UM would have won the game, but it definitely gave UL a cushion they never gave up.

Which calls didn't you like, specifically? I thought Louisville was fouling Burke pretty hard...almost Pistons-esque in some of their undercuts.

considering how they was letting a lot of things go down low when L-Ville was getting offensive rebounds and Michigan was literally raping L-Ville's big men and even worse when L-Ville was just hand checking every play down court, no way did Burke foul there.

I'm a Michigan fan and I'm not complaining that the refs screwed us over. I think the officiating was overall just bad (been that way the entire tournament), but it went against both teams so it offset. Granted, the foul on Burke on that block was HUGE in terms of momentum and time remaining. Who knows what would have happened had that not been called. Regardless though, still one of the best basketball games I've ever watched. I was on the edge of my seat the entire game.

It's nice watching a basketball game that isn't exciting until the last 2 minutes of the game.

Bad officiating is only acceptable if it is bad both ways, which I think it was. The Louisville guys getting hacked under the basket would have changed the outcome just as much as correct call on the block. Bad calls happen.
