Dave DeBusschere probably belongs at the #7 spot above McHale, and possibly the #6 spot above Hayes. When the Knicks beat the Lakers in the Finals with Willis Reed hobbling on a bad knee, it was DeBusschere who actually did all the work. He was a monster at U of Detroit, averaging 20+ points and rebounds per game. He only played 2 years of college ball because he left school early to pitch for the White Sox. He was only 6-6, but he was the best defensive forward in the NBA when he played, and is arguably the best defensive forward in NBA history.Comment
