Doug Gotlieb: I'd rather have Kawhi Leonard than Paul George
Kawhi Leonard is okay, but I don't get the love that I see him getting all of the time. When he is good he is good, but not great. The problem with him is that he can go from giving you a good game to giving you nothing. I would like to know the context behind why Gotlieb would say that.

Leonard is a better and more versatile defender(can defend the 1,2,and 3), a better 3pt shooter, and more of a team guy.

Paul George is asked to do far more than Leonard. Leonard is considered the 4th option on the Spurs. Meanwhile George is the Number 1 guy on the Pacers.

Leonard isn't a better defender and if some random analytic calculation says he is than it is because he doesn't have the responsibility that George does offensively. I actually like Gotlieb ( I know, I know), but he is off on this.
Talking about the regular season. Where George would come out and just have awful games. Granted I would want Paul George over Kawhi.
True, but I am willing to give George the benefit of the doubt. I am hopeful that this playoffs has been his coming out party and he now understands the requirement of a star each and every night. I don't think he is on the elite level of stars, but I can put him on that second tier and most of that has to do with his inconsistency. However, at his best George is by far a better overall player than Leonard.
