Grant Hill retires after 19 seasons

Seven-time All-Star Grant Hill is retiring from the NBA after 19 seasons, ending an injury-plagued career that included an Olympic gold medal.

Despite being a Duke Blue Devil, Grant Hill has always been one of my favorite players. It's a shame that injuries derailed his career early on.

I'll always remember him as being the reason an entire generation got hooked on Sprite.

Over his first 6 seasons he was statistically one of the greatest players to ever play the game.

Who knew D-Wade would retire the same day as Grant Hill.

Not sure I'd go that far, but a damn fine player and role model.

He was the first person I ever got a jersey for, sad that injuries destroyed his chances of being one of the best ever.

I have a teal Grant Hill jersey too. Those Pistons jerseys/logo were my favorite

Phenomenal player always loved watching him play. Got the chance to train with him while I was in high school too over the summer. Great guy, great personality he never took anything for granted and was an extremely hard worker. Definitely had the potential to be one of the greats.

Before injury he was on track to be in the HOF. It is too bad he tried to play through injury. I was a fan as well. When healthy he was putting up LeBron James type numbers.

After the first six seasons of his career, before his ankle injury, Hill had a total of 9,393 points, 3,417 rebounds and 2,720 assists. Oscar Robertson, Bird and LeBron James are the only three players in league history to eclipse these numbers after their first six seasons.

Statistically speaking , that would make him one of the best of all time through his first 6 seasons

Great player, and as has been discussed a GREAT marketing spokesman. I remember these bad boys causing all kinds of violence back in the day:
