Jason Kidd Wants the Nets Head Coach Gig

Yahoo! had the story according to their sources. Kidd is looking at putting together a group of assistants who can help him make the jump as a coach while the Nets are considering it.

He's still held in such high regard by the organization, even with all the management changes over the years.

What would you do? Give the guy the chance or go with a coach who has busted his ass coming up the ranks (Brian Shaw or someone akin to him)?

Why in god's name does someone who's made $200+ million during their career want a job as miserable as NBA head coach?

Considering they are in win now mode it seems odd that Brooklyn would hire Kidd. I understand that success of Mark Jackson, but Jackson was hired to coach a young team that he molded and Jackson while not being a coach of any type was able to view the game from different perspectives being in broadcasting. Kidd's retirement papers probably haven't even been signed by Stern yet and he could be walking into a locker room with established "stars". I wonder what Deron Williams thinks about this. I do know that him and Kidd are close, but still.

The Brooklyn Nets will hire Jason Kidd as their new head coach. Kidd is finalizing a three-year deal.

Why are both New York NBA teams such a joke?

one coach Deron can't kill...very intrigued to see who he brings on his staff and what his style will be...never thought Kidd would be a coach.
