    Spurs cut Manu Ginobli

Not surprised at all after he single handedly lost the Spurs the NBA title in game 6 and heavily contributed to the loss in game 7.

He played poorly down the stretch, no doubt. But is he really getting a ton of hate/blame in San Antonio?

I know Duncan must be a god down there, but is he getting any flack for his point blank miss?

He was making a lot of money and the contract expired, so who knows how much money SA was willing to spend on him and how much he wanted.

He wasn't cut, he was a free agent.

He might as well have been cut, the Spurs didn't give him a contract offer after he gave an interview to an Argentinian newspaper last week saying he was coming back to the Spurs this fall. Local chatter is that he didn't want to back down very far off of the $14.1M the Spurs paid him this past season so Buford told him to hit the bricks.

I think he is finished in San Antonio unless he is willing to play for $3M-$5M and that would be charity.

But cut implies that they swallowed money just to get him off the team. They didn't, his contractual obligation to the Spurs was finished, they were done with him, so he's a free agent.

Not sure where he goes now. I really can't think of a team.

              $14.1M?

              I hope that isn't true.

The local chatter sounds retarded. Pro athletes aren't the brightest bulbs in the bunch but I think even Manu and his agent know that he's worth nowhere near $14.1 million a season.

He'll have to take a Ray Allen role somewhere. He'll be lucky to get the mid-level IMO.
