Schilling - Yes. 3000+ Ks, dominant post-season record. Well above-average ERA.
Kenny Rogers - Not a snowball's chance in hell. If he's a HOFer, then so is Jamie Moyer, and neither are.
Pettitte- Nope. Steroids. Wouldn't be either way.
Ivan Rodriguez - Easily. Probably the best all-around catcher ever. 13 time gold-glover, 7 silver sluggers, 1 MVP. 14 time all-star. 18th among active hitters in batting average. etc.
Pedro Martniez - Without a doubt. First ballot. Greatest pitcher of his era by far.
Jim Thome - Hard to say with him. He's got the power #s and the OBP, but something about him doesn't give me that HOF feeling.
Omar Vizquel - I like Omar. 11 gold gloves, decent basestealer, serviceable hitter. He should get in on his glove at some point.
Mark McGwire- Steroids, No.
Jorge Posada - Hell no.
John Smoltz - Maybe not first ballot, but definitely should get in at some point.
Mike Mussina- NO. Won 20 games only 1 time in his entire career. Didn't reach the 3,000 strikeout plateau, only won 270 games in 18 years. Career 3.68 ERA isn't HOF impressive to me. Never really was the best pitcher on any team he was on, so I can't really put him in the hall.
Roy Halladay-maybe, have to see how his career plays out Ichiro- Yes, will only be a couple hundred short of 3000 hits in not that much time playing in America Todd Helton- If somehow he can pick his career back up, like you said about Thome somthing about him jsut doesnt say HOF to me Vlad Guerrero- Yes, probably will be a DH for the next couple f seasons and should still hit for power along with a good average.
I got a couple good ones, most likely it will be no but these guys should be interesting
Shawn Green
Larry Walker
Schilling - Borderline, postseason record helps his case though
Kenny Rogers - No
Pettitte- Maybe, the steriod controversy hurt his case
Ivan Rodriguez - Yes
Pedro Martniez - Yes
Jim Thome - borderline
Mark McGwire- Steroids, No.
Jorge Posada - nope, numbers aren't good enough..
John Smoltz - Should get in but not first ballot
Mike Mussina- Borderline
How about?
Derek Jeter
Mariano Rivera
Manny Ramirez
Larry Walker
Jeff Kent
Derek Jeter- of course
Mariano Rivera- of course
Manny Ramirez- of course, the bigger question is what team he will go in for
Larry Walker- Let someoen else do Larry Walker as already gave my opinion on him
Jeff Kent- I say yes just because he played 2B
Schilling - Borderline is right. Only 3 20-win seasons, several All Star appearances. Won 3 WS' and performed well in the post-season. 216 career wins. i'm not sure that's enough to get in though.
Kenny Rogers - No
Pettitte- No.
Ivan Rodriguez - Yes
Pedro Martniez - Yes
Jim Thome - I'd say no, but I would not be horrified if he ever got in. He was an awesome hitter but can you say he was among the top 5 best over a good stretch of his career? Didn't play well in the post-season and never won an MVP.
Mark McGwire- If you consider roided up players, yes. I would say no because besides the HRs, what was he? Fair? Perhaps not, but life isn't fair.
Jorge Posada - No.
John Smoltz - Yes, no doubt.
Mike Mussina- Borderline with a likely Yes vote somewhere down the line.
How about?
Derek Jeter - Yes. He will get close to 300 hits (who knows), several AS game appearances, as good a post-season player in the modern era, always at the top of the AL in hits, three gold gloves
Mariano Rivera - Yes. No doubt, the greatest closer of our generation.
Manny Ramirez - Yes. No doubt. Arguably the greatest hitter of our generation.
Larry Walker - No. just over 2100 hits, about 380 Hrs, 5 AS appearances, 1 MVP, 7 Gold Gloves, 3 Batting Titles. Has some good stats but I'm not sure about him.
Jeff Kent - I'd say yes. Best offensive 2B of our generation.

How about...
Carlos Delgado
Craig Biggio
Frank Thomas
Schilling- In easily. 3 20 win seasons is more than Pedro had. More career wins than Pedro. More K's than Pedro, more rings than Pedro. His ERA is better than the MLB average over his career by a wide margin. He's in no doubt.
Kenny Rogers- No.
Pettite- No
Pudge- Yes
Pedro Martinez- Yes easily. But to whoever said he is the best pitcher of this era by a wide margin I would disagree. Greg Maddux IMO is in that conversation and possibly the best. More career wins, more Cy Youngs, more strikeouts and the same amount of rings. Maddux>Pedro IMO.
Thome-Yes, but most likely not on first ballot. 500 clean HR's one of the premier sluggers in baseball for his time. His image and clean steroid record will help him out a lot.
Mark McGwire- Nope. Steroids, low average, not very good defensivly.
Posada- No.
John Smoltz- Yes. Easy.
Mussina- Yes. But not on first ballot.
Derek Jeter- Yes. Easy.
Mariano Rivera- Yes. Easy.
Manny Ramirez- LOL at this even being a question. He's in the covnersation as the best right handed hitter ever.
He'll eventually get in because of his home run total. There is going to be a year when every good candidate on the ballot will have taken steroids, and that will be the year McGwire gets in.

I doubt McGwire ever gets in. He had about 23% in 2009...he would need over three times as much to get in. Where do you see that support coming from?
