This and last years draft have been two of the best moments as a Sixers fan since Iverson was here. Finally a guy is running the team who actually knows what it takes to eventually build a winner in the league. No more middling players, no more trying all we can do to stay at the 7-8 seed for years. This guy has a plan to build through the draft and acquire top talent. IF this all pans out, we could be rising to the top of the East right when the Heat are coming back to earth.

i agree with what you're saying, but can someone explain how the Sixers benefited from acquiring Grangers expiring contract. Turner was walking away at the end of the year, right?

This being the NBA that is a major if. More likely they top out as a 45 win team, get stuck in NBA hell for a few years, and the cycle starts back over.

Not knocking the approach, it's the best course of action. Just keeping it realz.

It was basically cutting him without cutting him. We get 5 mil more in cap space when Granger gets cut/walks and you don't have to worry about even thinking about giving Turner a QO. Also helps us get closer to the cap floor.

Rather take the chance than just put your hands up in the air and say "fuck it". At least Hinkie has a plan and is hoping to get to the top half of the league, something we haven't had in a really long time.
