Wow...the lack of college bball discussion here is astounding. Has MrBill officially killed two sites now? First MM, then VSN?
Kentucky's guards were terrible (relatively speaking). They couldn't get the offense set up quickly, they couldn't get around Boatright and Napier, they couldn't shoot to draw the defense to them, and they couldn't pass the ball inside. Kentucky had to use Randle to set screens just so their guards could see the basket/floor. Perhaps Calipari could have let his guards fend for themselves and have Randle post-up every play...but again, with the Harrison brothers being completely unable to hit an outside shot, there would be no reason for UConn to extend their defense.

If Calipari kept Kentucky in their zone they more than likely would have won. Uconn has been awful against zone all year.
It would also help if Calipari actually preached free throwsComment

The king was shaken. He went up to the room over the gateway and wept.
As he went, he said: "O my son Absalom! My son, my son Absalom!
If only I had died instead of you
O Absalom, my son, my son!"Comment

Maryland will be fine. 2/3 have already been replaced.
Rumors started circulating about Faust and Cleare transferring about a month ago so those aren't that much of a shock. Not to mention before the transfers were even requested, Mark Turgeon went out and signed Michal Cekovsky, a 19 year old 7' international center who can step out and shoot the 3 to spread the floor. Scouts who have seen him play say the kid would be in the ESPN top 100 if he played in the US. That goes along with Trayvon Reed who signed with us earlier in the year. Being that we also had Charles Mitchell who played over Cleare during the year, the transfer makes sense. Obviously Cleare doesn't want to be a 4th string center/3rd string PF his entire career.
Nick Faust was benched 1/3 of the way through the season and we just brought in 3 more shooters in this years recruiting class who would take even more time away from Faust. He's entering his senior year, he's probably going to go somewhere that he'll get PT like Cleare.
The only weird/unexpected one was Peters. I'm assuming it's because he was benched once Seth Allen came back from injury and continued to see less playing time whenever Seth Allen was healthy. Being that Allen is only a soph, he probably wants to go to a place where he'll get more PT like Faust and Cleare. This is the only transfer that worries me a bit considering we don't have much depth at PG. I'm assuming Dez Wells is going to move over to a PG/SG role to fill the void.
Kevin feel free to correct me if I'm wrong on any of this. I'm not too worried about losing those 3 though. They combined for 18.5 PPG 7.5 RPG and 4.4 APG between all 3 players. Not any real major loss and two were bound to go anyways due to us having 2 more scholarship players than allowed with the Cekovsky signing.Comment
