Steve Kerr is New Warriors Coach

    Official, $25M over 5 years.

Apparently James Dolan wouldn't okay whatever Kerr wanted , so Phil must go elsewhere for a coach.

    Fine hire for Golden State.

The king was shaken. He went up to the room over the gateway and wept.
As he went, he said: "O my son Absalom! My son, my son Absalom!
If only I had died instead of you
O Absalom, my son, my son!"

      Should've hired D'Antoni.

Or maybe Kerr didn't want to leave the west coast or inherit a train wreck of a roster with no cap relief or draft picks on the horizon. Once the W's made overtures the Knicks were toast.

It's convenient for Knicks fans to blame Dolan, and it might make them feel better, but the reality is once an actual contender was interested there was no way Kerr was ever coming east.

NAHSTE, I'd say it's a combination of the shitty roster and the toxic corporate culture Dolan's created at the Garden. He had people in his ear (probably Marv) warning him about the Knicks and the way they operate. Smart move by Kerr.

Wonder how much $$ GS would have offered him had the Knicks not been in play. Kerr gets an amazing pay day for a first time head coach and an incredibly better roster (than the Knicks) and a fraction of the pressure and bullshit that comes with the Garden. Throw in his family being based on the west coast and really, the only reason he likely considered NY was solely related to buddy Phil.

GS needs a healthy big man but you have to like their chances to improve w/ Kerr.

Right. You can blame Dolan indirectly, in that Dolan's existence is preventing the Knicks from being an attractive job.

It does say something that the fucking WARRIORS can trump the Knicks these days as a better job, regardless of current roster construction. Amazing when you think about it.

It will take more than a few months for Phil to shine the more than a decade worth of shit off the franchise.

It's shouldn't be surprising W2B. These NBA guys see the same shit we've seen with the Knicks ever since James Dolan took over. It's been 14 years of ineptitude. Look at the way the Spurs are run compared to the Knicks - it's a fucking circus here, mainly because of the idiot owner.

Dolan doesn't mess with the Rangers, but for some reason he thinks he knows basketball.

The new candidates for the coaching spot are pretty interesting (Derek Fisher, Luke Walton). I don't follow enough to know how they would do, just know who they are.

The Knicks only offered Kerr three years at $13 million, no wonder why he took the Golden State job.
