Suns fans love Bledsoe as well, and McDonough/Hornacek are both known backers of the two-prong point guard system. Fact is, if Bledsoe is healthy all season - we're in the playoffs and doing damage to a higher seed. Not sure if the risk-averse McDonough is willing to sacrifice something great for a piece like Love, particularly if he can package a couple of the three picks we have for a different top-25 player and make a run at it with Dragic/Bledsoe. Okafor can't be traded anymore, as the insurance premium does not check out post-trade deadline. He will become a free agent following the draft.

That said, this exact situation has happened before in Phoenix - and Dragic is essentially a clone of Hornacek (check out their splits, it's really pretty amazing). Could see Love being Barkley 2.0 and jettisoning a fan-favorite out of Phoenix, though I can't see Horny being 100% happy with it.

Fact is though, we probably don't have the pieces with Okafor's insurance premium gone. Who really wants the poor man's Plumlee in a trade for a top-10 player? And no one in the league will want to split up the Morrii twins. Just can't see this trade going through in Phoenix post-deadline. I'd absolutely put money on the Celtics with pieces like a likely top-5 pick, Sullinger, Bradley, and Green likely weighing heavy on trade talks.

Plus why would Love go to the Celtics? Theyre in full rebuild.
The Nets pick is in the 20s this year... The future picks are the value. That team is already in cap hell and tethered to the corpse of KG.

They also have Green, Sullinger or Bradley who are better than any players the Lakers or Knicks could package with their picks (which they have less of than the Celtics).

It's the NBA, so it will ultimately be the players decision, but we still have the best assets among the big three markets being mentioned.

Once in a generation confluence of events.. that happened a few years later in Miami.

You realize the difference(s) between Boston and Miami, right? And who exactly is Kevin Love teaming up with to head to Boston in this dream scenario you've concocted?

The Celtics and Heat situations were very different. You're talking trade scenarios vs free agency signings.

I'm just saying.. The team NAHSTE is hyping to pick up love has no assets, no coach, a disorganized FO, and an aging super(?)star in Bryant.

Other than boyhood aspirations, I don't know what the reasoning for Love to go there would be.

Good to know about Okafor, didnt know that before. Yeah for PHX to get love they have to part w/ one of their guards. If Dragic or Bledsoe isnt included there is no deal.

The Nets play in the East with the richest owner in sports...all future picks are going to be in the 20's as well. There is no value in the Nets picks.

Who are they going to add to that roster this off-season to keep them in the 20s?

Well in terms of the Lakers.. where he will wind up.. rest assured.. it will happen.

                        - Would be "the man" of the team in 2 years
                        - Very strong possibility of (former UCLA teammate) Russell Westbrook joining him in 2017-18.

Why would he want to leave Minnesota? Because no one cares about the NBA here. The team is shit, the Target Center is shit, the NBA is shit. Why would anyone want to play in a bad arena with zero fan interest? Hell the NBA is nothing compared to high school hockey in Minnesota, it isn't on peoples' radar. Beyond hockey, which is de facto #1 here, you have to compete with the Shield and the Twin's sexy new stadium. NBA being a bottom barrel product as is, doesn't have a chance.

He was born in CA yes, but only lived there ONE YEAR before they moved to OR. He lived in OR until he went to school at UCLA, which is a great basketball program, who wouldnt want to play ball there? Just because he was born somewhere and went to school somewhere has pretty much ZERO effect on where he wants to play pro ball. The guy wants to win, there is no way in hell he is going to want to go to the Lakers. Kobe is toast and there is noone left on that roster. He is "the man" for the Wolves. The Lakers have been interested in him for years, but nowhere has he stated he wants to play in LA. You really think hes thinking about what an oft-injured Westbrook MIGHT do in 3 years??
