NBA is a complete joke :)

They have lost so many casual fans due to these idiot players and refs. Last night there was a play where Dwade faked getting hit in the face. So now he get 2 free throws. My wife says is this WWE or the NBA. LOL She only will watch the finals with me but if someone who never watches games just see's half this BS guys pull on the court how can they even want to become more interested in watching it again. i love Lebron but he puts his head down like a running back charges the lane and throws the ball up and get a foul called every time. It was almost a unwatchable game last night. The elbow to Parker could have went either way but i think Chalmers was trying to elbow parker. I'm not a fan other either team just enjoy a good game. It really seems the only real basketball to watch anymore is NCAA and thats it.

How can the ref call something he clearly had no eyes on?

The NBA puts no teeth into their flopping rules. Do like the NHL. Put them into the penalty box during the game. Enough of this $5000 fine bullcrap. Put the other team on the PP & watch all that phony mess disappear.

The worst arguments are the "I barely watch this because it's terrible" arguments.

If you don't watch then you don't really have the sample size to say the entire league is a joke.

Does LeBron get star treatment? yeah and it's pathetic. It's such a dirty little secret too, it's so obvious but the guys who call the game don't ever really lay it out there and even loudmouths like Charles Barkley don't really hit it on the head.

The thing is, this is nothing new. Kobe got the star treatment before him and so did Jordan before him. Big Players get Big Calls in Big Games. this is how the NBA always has been. they overwhistle on the guys who sell sneakers and jerseys to protect their product. I feel like it's part of the game and has bbeen since way before LeBron ever pulled off his first crossover. Furthermore, it doesn't really happen for most other teams and most other players which is where i take issue with the "whole league is like this".

NCAA basketball is basically the All-Star game : nobody plays defense and the shots those kids get off at the college level wouldn't be there in the pro's. I understand the appeal to gamblers in march madness and the atmosphere of a winning college campus is second to none but it's really shitty quality ball those guys play

I agree the quality, when compared to the NBA game, is drastically worse but I have NEVER seen someone claim that NCAA players do not play defense and that it is "basically the All-star game."

I would argue that the shots the NCAA players get off are because of the talent gap between the top players/teams and the mid-tier players/teams. The top players are just that much better and it's not because there is no defense being played.

I don't think the NBA officials would have the balls/guts to actually call flopping during the game. And with so much flopping, I think its asking a bit much of the already-floundering NBA officials to determine in the heat of the moment whether a player flopped or whether he was legit fouled.

I think a better way to handle the flopping would be to use the soccer model, and have the NBA league office review the game tapes afterwards to make the flopping determination, then suspend the players who flop. The NBA would never do this, though, because the game itself is not a draw...its the players. If LeBron is suspended for flopping, then you have upset ticket holders, upset TV execs, and no interest for those Heat games.

Yeah, I can see the similarities between an NCAA basketball game and the NBA All-Star game...WTF are you talking about?

Flopping is a problem I just about every sport FWIW.

Every 3rd or 4th dropback QBs now whine to the officials about something a defender did to them, or act like a grendade went off beneath them when someone taps them on the head.

It's competition at the highest level. If you think these pros aren't going to do everything they can to win these games I don't know what to tell you.

people used to say similar things about Jordan, called fouls and going to the foul line for free-throws all the time.........
same people later said that he was the best player of All-Time.

Jordan and LeBron go to the basket strong........wouldnt you? its either an easy basket or a foul or get the AND ONE.....

                        dont get me wrong - when you had Bad Boys from Detroit (Pistons) and the Knicks and Oakley days;
you could clothes-line MFers coming in the lane
                        But
                        its a different game now.
3rd & 14, inside your own 15, up 6, 3:20min left to go = call a PA Pass and Cancel. *its Legit, so no needless complaining

When I watch Georgetown struggle to score 50 a game, I'm constantly reminded of All Star weekend.

while its not quite a joke I do wonder about these one sided point swings by both teams in this era and calling these teams and these players great ? I doubt there were that many sloppy games when the Lakers played the Celtics and Sixers in the 80s.
